Hamada Bamyu Bamyu is a character played by Hamada Masatoshi of comedy-duo Downtown. The idea for the character was born from a segment from Downtown’s show “Downtown no Gaki no Tsukai Yaarahende!!” titled “Plan to Make Hamada an Idol”. In collaboration with this new star, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s sound producer Nakata Yasutaka (CAPSULE) was responsible for the song writing, Sebastian Masada who works on Harajuku Kawaii was in charge of the music video, outfits, CD artwork and the visual side of the project. This perfect collaboration became the talk of the town last year.

The hit single “Nandeyanen” was released digitally worldwide in 111 countries and ranked No.3 on the iTunes®Store. This of course led to the CD debut that was seen in December last year which shook the music industry. Following up on this, Hamada Bamyu Bamyu is beginning an all-new project.

The project is titled 【Hamada Bamyu Bamyu ‘Nandeyanen’ Dance Video Project ～I am … Bamyu Bamyu!～】. As the name suggests, the project is calling for applicants who have posted a dance video of themselves on websites such as YouTube and Nico Nico dancing along to “Nandeyanen”.

The music video for “Nandeyanen” has already surpassed 8 million views. Many people have posted their dance videos on various video sites, and the hype surrounding Hamada Bamyu Bamyu is ever-growing. In response to this, applications for this new official project will begin on February 4th from 00:00.

The winner of this project will be given an extremely rare poster officially signed by Hamada Bamyu Bamyu. Additionally, the winner’s video will also be specially broadcast on  “Downtown no Gaki no Tsukai Yaarahende!!”

There are no age restrictions; from children to adults, we are eagerly anticipating applicants who are thinking: “I am … Bamyu Bamyu!”
