Yohji Yamamoto & New Era® Team Up to Release New Skull & Rose Pattern Items

New items have arrived in Yohji Yamamoto and New Era’s® collaborative series and are available from April 18.

The key motif of this season’s release is the skull and rose design that was featured Yohji Yamamoto Homme in the fall and winter season back in 2014. The new line-up includes caps, a rucksack, t-shirts and hoodies.

    The anime series JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean has inspired a new line of hats from NEW ERA! These six caps are available to preorder now on the Premium Bandai website.   JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean is the fifth season of the anime series. The first twelve episodes are available on Netflix now, while the second half will premiere in late 2022.   The 9FIFTY model is similar to the 59FIFTY with an adjustable head strap. Fans of the series can enjoy repping their favorite character through one of New Era’s basic snapback caps. JOTARO PURPLE was inspired by Jotaro with a snake pattern on the underside of the brim and a deep purple color. The STONE OCEAN LOGO BLACK cap features an embroidered Stone Ocean logo.   Fans can also get hats based on Jolyne Cujoh, the main protagonist of Stone Ocean. Framed for a DUI murder, she was sent to Green Dolphin Street Prison–a motif that appears on her cap.     Yohji Yamamoto’s brand Ground Y has announced a collaboration with contemporary artist Yasuto Sasada. The collection will launch on May 27 at Ground Y stores and the official Yohji Yamamoto online shop. Yamamoto’s Ground Y aims to create new fashion possibilities in a ‘genderless’ and ‘ageless’ style that can be worn by anyone. All the more reason to check out the offerings! The collection fuses art and fashion, incorporating various motifs drawn by Yasuto Sasada using charcoal, watercolor, and pastel paints. The artist’s original worldview is a large part of his appeal, and the masterful way he blends his colorful imagination and technical skills gives off an incredible energy that no one else can imitate. As with other Ground Y collaborations, each piece gives off a ‘Made in Japan’ vibe. Stores nationwide are now selling items created by the popular South Korean idol group BTS, headwear and fashion brand New Era, and the MLB, the world’s premier professional baseball league.   Dynamite    Butter   Black Swan    The designs in this collection incorporate the coloring and artwork found on the covers of the BTS singles Black Swan, Dynamite, and Butter, with the MLB logo. Fans can grab baseball caps, bucket hats, and t-shirts inspired by each song.   BAYFLOW began selling these new items in stores nationwide starting May 13, 2022.     In January, it was announced thatYohji Yamamoto’s brand Ground Y would release a Demon Slayer-inspired collection. From February 10 until February 20, these items will be available at participating Ground Y stores nationwide as well as on THE SHOP YOHJI YAMAMOTO online store.     Original Bandana for Early Orders (while supplies last) The collection is made exclusively from traditional Japanese fabrics, including silk from Ogura Fabrics, established in 1895. Fans can pick up cloaks and long coats featuring popular characters from the series including Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, and Kyojuro Rengoku. These illustrations were provided by ufotable exclusively for this collaboration. A number of shirts will also be available, so be sure to grab your favorites before they’re gone!
  • Yohji Yamamoto Reveals 2022 Spring/Summer Collection, Key Visual

    The newest Yohji Yamamoto Ground Y collection was released on January 21, 2022. The spring/summer items made their first appearance in a key visual featuring actors Mai Fukagawa and Mahiro Takasugi. The concept for the new collection is ‘Beyond Boundaries.’ By reconstructing existing borders to create a hectic visual cacophony, Yamamoto has also been deeply inspired by the stories of Japan’s literary giants such as Natsume Souseki and Dazai Osamu.   
    The models seen in the key visual are Mai Fukagawa and Mahiro Takasugi, both of whom are active in popular dramas and films. Commentary from both actors can be seen on the official Ground Y YouTube channel, so be sure to give it a watch!   The visuals for this collection were shot under the direction of photographer Masatoshi Yamashiro and stylist Takashi Mizuguchi at the Jiyu Gakuen Girls’ School, which was designed by American master Frank Lloyd Wright in 1921 and has been designated as an important cultural property.
