Before she made her solo debut, ReoNA first lent her voice to Kanzaki Elza, a character featured in the TV anime series Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online which aired in 2018. She continued to release songs with the pseudonym "Kanzaki Elza starring ReoNa" under which she topped digital music charts in Japan. It was revealed back in April that Kanzaki Elza starring ReoNa will release a new single entitled Prologue on June 26, 2019. The CD artwork has been unveiled. It is drawn by Kouhaku Kuroboshi, the illustrator for the ongoing light novel series Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online.   The cases of First Press Limited Edition copies of the single will feature this artwork and will also include a short story by Keiichi Sigsawa, the author of Gun Gale Online.   ReoNa will perform a special one-night-only concert for 550 people at CLUB CITTA' in Kawasaki on July 25. The concert is titled Kanzaki Elza starring ReoNa x ReoNa Special Live "Re:AVATAR" and is a sequel to last year's show held at Akasaka Blitz. To attend this special show, fans must purchase a copy of Prologue and apply with the application ticket included with the new single. It has also been announced that ReoNa will release a new single under her main stage name too. Titled Null, the single will be released in Japan on August 28, 2019. It will also include the track Kaibutsu no Uta, the first original song ReoNa ever released and has been singing since her solo debut. ReoNa will embark on a 6-date Japan tour entitled ReoNa Live Tour 2019 "Colorless" starting on September 21. She will also headline Zepp Tokyo for the first time on October 20 for her concert ReoNa ONE-MAN Live "Birth 2019".   Fans who pre-order both Prologue and Null at select stores in Japan this summer will be able to sign up for pre-sale tickets to ReoNa's upcoming shows.

Now, for the first time since her mini album release ELZA on July 4 last year, the singer will release a new single under the pseudonym.   The title of the 3-track single is Prologue and will tell the story of how the artist Kanzaki Elza came to be, her way of life and why she sings. First Press Limited Edition copies will feature a short story illustrated written by Keiichi Sigsawa, the author of Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online. Both the story and CD cover are illustrated by Kouhaku Kuroboshi. It has also been announced ReoNa will release another single will release another single this summer containing songs from before she made her solo debut.   ReoNa is set to perform her first ever Zepp Tokyo solo show on October 10, the same date as her birthday.

Kanzaki Elza is a character and singer-songwriter in the popular ongoing anime series Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online. Episode 12, the final of the series, aired on June 30. The episode featured the insert track Rea(s)oN which has received a full digital release here in the real world. Kanzaki Elza has established herself as a hugely popular artist in the world of Gun Gale Online. Several of her songs have received digital releases already and blown up online, even charting high on iTunes.   Rea(s)oN will be featured on the mini album ELZA which contains songs heard in the anime. The song blew up on Japanese social media with teary-eyed watchers when it played during the show.   ELZA will be released on July 4 starring ReoNa, the actual singer. Those who purchase the album at select stores in Japan will be invited to a special concert titled Kanzaki Elza starring ReoNa x ReoNa Special Live "AVATAR". There are 500 places available on a first-come, first-served basis. This will be her first live event since her solo debut to be sure to get your copy fast.   ReoNa will also perform at a special event for the anime series on September 16 at Tokyo International Forum Hall C. Details regarding the show have yet to be announced but fans are excited. It has also been announced that ReoNa will perform the ending theme song SWEET HURT to the forthcoming anime adaptation of Happy Sugar Life which will begin airing on July 14. The singer will go on to release her debut single on August 29 via SACRA MUSIC. ReoNa's world of music is just beginning.

The character has established herself as an extremely popular artist in the world of Gun Gale Online and reigns the world of the anime as one shrouded in mystery. Her song are also available for digital download here in the real world. The moment they were released digitally, there was a huge response online, with tracks even ranking top across digital platforms including iTunes.

The song Independence from the 5th episode was released on May 5, and after the end of the broadcast, it was revealed that ReoNa, a new musician, is in charge of Kanzaki Elza's singing voice. Her selection for this significant role caused excitement online the moment it was announced.

 

ReoNa has a beautiful and transient young-boy-like voice. Despite having not even made her debut yet, she is garnering stark attention for her voice and shadowy looks.

In episode 5.5, the full size version of Independence was broadcast. This was an unprecedented way of airing an insert song in a TV anime series, and the way it played out in the episode itself was like that of a music video, causing much praise from fans online.

Independence was released for digital download on May 13. It changes course from what we've heard from Kanzaki Elza up to now, providing a rock and digital sound.

 

A mini album titled ELZA is also set for release on July 4 containing the songs we've heard up to now in the series as well as unannounced tracks.
