Loquat Fruit Parfait & Sandwich Arrives at Shiseido Parlour in Ginza

Salon de Cafe at Shiseido Parlour in Ginza are now selling a parfait and fruit sandwich that contains loquat, a fruit also known as the Japanese medlar, grown in Oseto in Nagasaki Prefecture.

Loquat Parfait – ¥1,980 (Tax Included)

The taste of loquats becomes miler as the tree gets older. The loquat in this parfait was taken from a tree over 50 years old and combined with lychee sherbet and jasmine jelly. A wholesome and nutritional dessert that elicits the feeling of the start of summer.

Fruit Sandwich – ¥1,630 (Tax Included)
This lightly toasted raisin bread sandwich contains simple fresh cream and six different fruits: banana, orange, strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, kiwi, and the centrepiece fruit, loquat.

Asuka Ruby Strawberry Parfait – ¥1,890

These delicious and bright red strawberries get their name for their vibrant colour that shines like a ruby. They are also used in the sauce for this parfait.

Miyazaki Mango & Apricot Bavarois Fruit Soup – ¥1,980
A mouse combining seasonal mango from Miyazaki Prefecture and apricots.

    The special Shinbashi-iro Parfait will be available from October 1 until October 31 at Shiseido Parlour Nihonbashi, Yokohama Takashimaya, Yokohama Sogo, Shiseido Parlour Nagoya, and Salon de Cafe Lazona Kawasaki Plaza.   Shibashi-iro is a bright greenish-blue color that is known to be traditionally Japanese. It was named after the color of kimono worn by Shinbashi geisha, who were known to be at the forefront of fashion during the late Meiji period.  In 1902, at the soda fountain–later renamed Shiseido Parlour–many Shinbashi geisha would take a break to enjoy some tasty soda water. This parfait was designed to conjure images of these chic and glamorous ladies.   

    The Chic and Stylish Shinbashi-iro

    Shibashi-iro is a greenish-blue color that is traditionally Japanese. The name was derived from the color of kimono worn by Shinbashi geisha between 1868 and 1912.    The parfait is made with traditional vanilla ice cream, green apple filling, and blue jelly with decorative flourishes.
