Kyary Pamyu Pamyu Collaborates with Sapporo’s ‘Parfait, Coffee, Sake, Sato’ for LOCAL POWER JAPAN Project
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of her major label debut, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is staying active in 2022. The artist released her first full-length album in three years ‘Candy Racer’ in October 2021, and next month Kyary will finally take to the stage at Coachella 2022 in California. In conjunction with the nationwide tour, the LOCAL POWER JAPAN Project was launched to energize Japan through the appeal of regional towns and cities. Finally making it to Sapporo in Japan’s north, details surrounding the singer’s sweet new collaboration have been announced!
Kamaitachi – Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (Music Video)
Kyary is teaming up with Satodo, a pistachio-based confectionary specialty store. The shop is owned by Parfait, Coffee, Sake, Sato, a local bar famous for its parfait, which many say has become a new Sapporo specialty. Satodo opened in 2021 with the aim of creating sweets that only Parfait, Coffee, Sake, Sato can produce, and has gained national attention for using incredible local ingredients.
The collaborative logo for the project was inspired by Kyary’s 2020 song Kamaitachi. As the logo for one of Satodo’s most popular sweets is a bear, Kyary’s cute persona with bear ears is a perfect match!
The locale’s popular bear-shaped sweets will now come in a special collaborative box. These tasty treats called monaka consist of a wafer cake filled with bean jam or other unique fillings. The box of six sweets contains both Hokkaido bean paste and pistachio paste.
A collaborative T-shirt is also on sale featuring the new Kamaitachi-inspired logo and the singer’s 10th-anniversary logo. The shirt is available on the LOCAL POWER JAPAN Project website for a limited time only.
