Gudetama’s “space menu” will be offered in Yokohama at “Pompompurin Café”

“Pompompurin Café” – Yokohama Store is a café using the motif of Pompompurin, a very popular character of Sanrio. At this café you can also meet another popular Sanrio character, “Gudetama.”  From the 5th of September (Wed.) to the 30th of November (Fri.), four menu items are being debuted in commemoration of Gudetama’s 5th anniversary. These menu items will also be sold at “Pompompurin Café” -Nagoya Store from the 1st of October (Mon.) to the 31st(wed.).

Furthermore, a “Gudetama Café” is now open in “Dining Park Ikebukuro” located inside of Seibu Ikebukuro Main Store. It was opened on the 26 of June and will be open until the 24th of September. The café was created under the concept of, “the lazy character, Gudetama went to space” in commemoration of Gutetama’s 5th anniversary. This time, they will sell four limited menu items.

Going to Mars? Guderian Pasta 1,390 yen (tax not included)

This menu item was created under the concept of, “Guderian, a strange character made of tomato sauce, with red paprika legs and a mashed potato face, has left for Mars?” Don’t miss the spacy-looking small squid and the mini-tomato asteroids stuck onto a pure-black pasta made of squid ink.

 

Hakken! Puriketsu Sei Black Curry 1,190 yen (tax not included)

The hips of Gudetama (looking like a giant planet) are placed at the center of a black curry! Nisetama can be found beside Gudetama. Many kinds of ingredients such as meatballs, brussels sprout and mushrooms that look like asteroids are placed around the curry.

 

Amattareteita – Mujuryoku Gude Burger 1,390 yen (tax not included)

A sweet dessert that looks like a burger. “Gudetama” made with apricots placed on top of milk agar, mango custard, chocolate ice cream and strawberry sauce are sandwiched inside a French toast.

 

Black de Hall Ja Parfait 1,190 yen (tax not included)

Black de Hall (black hole) is depicted using a doughnut iced in a galaxy pattern. Chocolate sponge cake, black currant agar, mint cream, berries, chocolate and black currant ice cream are stuffed inside a jar. This menu item is sweet but sour at the same time.

  • Sanrio Character Pochacco to Collaborate With Gudetama at the Gudetama Cafe in Osaka

    Pochacco is one of the many characters produced by Sanrio alongside Hello Kitty, Pompompurin, Gudetama and many others.   The floppy-eared white dog will celebrate his 30th anniversary next year. In the meantime, to celebrate Gudetama's 5th anniversary, he's heading to the Gudetama Cafe in Umeda, Osaka. This is the first time the two have collaborates. There will be four cute menu items to choose from.

    Gudetama & Pochacco Getting-Along Hamburger - ¥1,250 (+Tax)

    Hugging these hamburgers are a white Pochacco bun with his iconic floppy ears and hair made from wafers, and a Gudetama carrot bun. Both come as a set with a side of salad and fries.

    Pochacco Catching Some Zzz's Under a Gudetama Blanket in a Bed of Hashed Beef - ¥1,100 (+Tax)

    Rice Pochacco is sleeping soudnly tucked under a Gudetama omelette blanket atop a bed of hhashed beef. He's wearing a night cap and surrounded by stars. This meal screams 'kawaii'!

    Gudetama x Pochacco Summer Parfait - ¥1,150 (+Tax)

    Pochacco is made of refreshing vanilla ice cream and sat comfortably on top of an overflowing parfait. There's a perfect mix of sweetness from the whipped cream and sponge and and sourness from the mangoes, kiwi and berries. At the bottom is Blue Hawaii jelly to complete that summertime feel. Don't forget the tiny Gudetama marshmallows diving in the cream!

    Gudetama & Pochacco Very Berry French Toast - ¥1,100 (+Tax)

    The thick-cut French toast is topped with colourful fruits and drizzled with a dark berry sauce. Vanilla ice cream Pochacco has marshmallow paws and Gudetama is made of mango ice cream. This delicious dish has lots of flavours to enjoy - just looking at it is enough to satisfy your tummy!

    To further get in on the celebrations, if you dine from this menu at the Gudetama Cafe or purchase any of the merchandise you'll get a free sticker.   • Guess the Secret Flavour of McDonald’s New Gudetama McFlurry and Win Prizes!

    McDonald's a teaming up with popular Sanrio character Gudetama to release a new honey flavoured McFlurry. It will go on sale at all McDonald's branches in Japan on June 8. The Gudetama McFlurry is made in the image of the lazy egg himself, deliciously made with rich milky soft serve and topped with two sauces and a secret ingredient. McDonald's Japan are also currently holding a campaign on Twitter for people to guess the flavour of the new product under the hashtag #ぐでたまってなに味? ('What flavour is Gudetama?') All you need to do is post your answer on Twitter along with the hashtag. Winners will be randomly selected to receive various gifts including a 'Golden Gudetama' as well as a McCard with an illustration of Gudetama. The flavour will be announced on June 13. The Gudetama McFlurry was released early at McDonald's on Takeshita Street in Harajuku on June 1. It will be released everywhere else on June 8. You'll spot the branch instantly with the Gudetama illustrations decorating the restaurant. There are six original cups that the new dessert will arrive in (though they are limited) to make your Gudetama experience even more fun.   • Urusei Yatsura Cafe Coming to Tokyo, Osaka, Aichi, and Miyagi to Celebrate New Broadcast

    To celebrate the return of Urusei Yatsura after 36 long years, a themed cafe will be coming to four cities in Japan for a limited time! The first cafe will open on December 1, 2022.    Urusei Yatsura is a manga series by Rumiko Takahashi that ran in Weekly Shonen Sunday from 1978 until 1987. An anime series aired in 1981 and became a massive hit with audiences, and understandably, it is still loved by anime and manga fans today.   The cafe features newly-drawn illustrations of six main characters including Ataru Moroboshi, Lum, and Ten.

    The second Tabekko Doubutsu Cafe Stand event opened in Omotesando on November 1, 2022. Paying homage to the classic snack first released in 1978, the cafe features a number of tasty snacks inspired by the thin animal-shaped cookies popular around the world.   This second event will run through January 9, 2023. Reservations are required, and many dates were completely sold out prior to the event’s start date, particularly on weekends. We decided to visit, anxious to see what the fuss is all about.   We were first shocked to see the popular animals enjoying oden! Original goods featuring the characters enjoying the quintessential Japanese winter dish are only available at the cafe. From acrylic keychains to figures, visitors can snag some adorable merchandise to commemorate their trip to the exclusive event. Why not snag some items that would be useful on a daily basis, like a notebook or an apron?   For food, visitors can snag a special Oden Set and Chinese Dumplings, both perfect for the winter. The oden features popular ingredients like egg, daikon, fish cake, and mochikinchaku, each branded with the popular animal characters. Drinks include soy milk, green tea milk, and milk tea.    In addition to the exclusive Lion Cake which is limited to 25 servings a day, guests can find chocolate bananas and other sweets on the menu, including a Sweets Set limited to those reserving special seats at the venue. For every ¥1,000 spent on food and drink items, customers will receive one Tabekko Doubutsu trading card!   The exhibition space is a must-see for fans of this legendary snack, filled with rare works including an adorable and very colorful print of every animal holding a bowl of oden.   • Capcom Cafe Announces Collaboration with Stand My Heroes Mobile Game

    From November 11 until December 15, Capcom Cafe AEON LakeTown and the Ikebukuro branch will hold a collaboration with the mobile game Stand My Heroes. Fans of the title will find a special collaboration menu and a selection of new merchandise for sale.    The details of the limited-edition goods and menu items have been revealed, and reservations are now open.

    In addition to standard items like clear folders and keychains, fans can also find blankets and mask pouches decorated with original illustrations by Capcom Cafe.   The Embroidered Tote Bag is subtle and perfect for daily use, and the stickers are great for school notebooks!
