LeChat Appointed Goodwill Ambassador for French Virtual Singer Alys

20.September.2018 | MUSIC

Internationally popular cosplayer and singer LeChat has been chosen to act as a goodwill ambassador for Alys, a virtual singer developed in France who has been called the French version of Hatsune Miku.

The offer came from VoxWave, the company behind Alys, after LeChat stole their hearts. Joffrey Collignon of VoxWave had the following to say:

Japan is a very popular country here in France. Even I wanted to visit the country when I was small. I studied abroad at Tokyo University and came into contact with Japanese culture and knew I absolutely wanted to work in Japan. We also came across LeChat. We thought the level of perfect in her cosplay was wonderful, and knew we could entrust Alys with her. She’s also active as a singer so having her collaborate with Alys was the absolute best.” (Translated from Japanese)

LeChat also commented on being appointed Ambassadrice Officielle D’Alys:

“I love France – even my [stage] name is French. I already knew I wanted to go to France, so it’s really an honour to be appointed to a position like this. I will work hard to become a bridge between France. I look forward to making an Alys outfit.” (Translated from Japanese)

LeChat loves beautiful things and the horror genre beyond all else and even works as an official cosplayer for the Cardfight!! Vanguard franchise of anime and games. She will also showcase her cosplay for the Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress by DMM GAMES at this year’s Tokyo Game Show which is taking place at Makuhari Messe on September 22 and 23.

LeChat has taken her work around the world to countries like Switzerland, the UK, Germany, Hong Kong ,China, Poland, Singapore, Brazil, Malaysia and elsewhere. Keep up to date to see what she’s up to next.

  • Japanese Cosplayer LeChat Collaborates With French Music Artist ‘Lightning’

    09.November.2018 | MUSIC

LeChat is a cosplayer from Japan who loves all things beautiful and horror. She recently moved record labels to Nippon Crown. She will release her first single since the move titled Kimi no Inai Kono Sekai de on November 21, 2018.

It has also been announced that LeChat will act as a bridge between France and Japan by becoming a goodwill ambassador for the hugely popular French virtual singer ALYS.

The digital single Kimi no Inai Kono Sekai de is in fact a Japanese cover of ALYS’ most popular song Sous cette pluie. The original French version was produced by France-based musician Lightning who so happens to hold an interest in LeChat’s style as cosplayer and singer and so collaborated on the track once more to provide the Japanese version.

    Comment: Lightning
“It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that Japan has always been a part of my life. I have always dreamed of being able to work with artists from Japan. Three years ago, a wrote a song called ‘Sous cette pluie’ for the French virtual singer ALYS. I am honoured to have been able to produce a new version of the song for LeChat’s Japanese cover with her cute and powerful voice. This unprecedented and innovative collaboration is sure to make history in music and act as a bridge between Japan and France. It is truly an honour and a privilege to be part of this valuable collaboration. I hope to continue making more songs with beautiful melodies that touch the hearts of LeChat and the people of Japan.” (*Translated from Japanese)

LeChat will appear at Anim’ Est which is taking place in Nancy, France on November 24 and 25. She will perform on stage together with Lighting on the 25th.
