Kis-My-Ft2’s new single Kimi, Boku. dropped on October 3 and has made it into Oricon’s latest Weekly Single Rankings, selling 195,000 copies in its first week. This is the 22nd record from the seven-member boy band that has reached number one since their debut.
The song is currently being used in a commercial in which the members also appear for a new heating pad product by KOWA.
Kimi, Boku. is a pop song about love and the thoughts and feelings Kis-My-Ft2 want to convey. The CD cover photo (above) has also been unveiled featuring the group’s new concept for the release that sees each member with their own respective colours painting onto a white canvas – as seen in their music video for the song.
The single also comes coupled with a blank version of the CD cover inside the booklet for fans to colour in. This has blown up along with the hashtag #君僕お絵描きジャケット which is seeing fans sharing their coloured-in pieces on social media. It has meant that each and every person has their own unique CD cover for Kimi, Boku..
Another hashtag #ソライロ was also created for the song Sorairo (‘colour of the sky’) which is coupled on the single. Fans have been posting pictures of different skies such as the colour of the sky during a certain memory they remember, their favourite sky, how the sky looked when they want to the band’s live show and so on.
These two hashtags are a result of the band members posting their own coloured-in CD covers and pictures of the sky, causing fans to follow suit.
Kis-My-Ft2 – “Kimi, Boku.” – How to do the “Kis-Tep”
