Beams Japan to Hold Collaborative Event in the City of Beppu

The Shinjuku branch of Japanese clothing brand Beams is holding an event titled BEAMS EYE on BEPPU in collaboration with the city of Beppu in Oita Prefecture.

 

A range of item are set to be sold including souvenirs co-developed by 10 different businesses as well as products from the Beppu New Standard project which started at the first run of this event held back in February.

Products include beverages made using the source water of hot springs in Beppu and skin care items which were developed by two buyers of Beams Japan and other businesses after sessions of exchanging ideas and tests. New and improved versions of popular local cakes developed during the event’s firs run will also be sold in addition to a line-up of items made with the local region in mind.

 

Select products at the event will be available to buy at the Beams store, on their official website and via ZOZOTOWN.

 

Additionally, businesses that participated in last year’s BEAMS EYE on BEPPU will set up a corner to sell Beppu New Standard products which have been locally. This is in an effort to show the many charms of the city of Beppu and that it is more than just a place to visit for the hot springs.

    Musical artist Licaxxx can be seen in KINGS with BEAMS SPORTS, a special concept movie made to promote the collaboration between BEAMS SPORTS and the Ryukyu Golden Kings, a B. League professional basketball team.   This project aims to expand the community surrounding both collaborators. BEAMS SPORTS creates opportunities for people to become more familiar with the positive energy generated by modern sports culture while the Ryukyu Golden Kings is known for celebrating the people and culture of Okinawa.   The concept video was planned and supervised by 92, a member of the artist collective GReeeeN.   • Attack on Titan in HITA Smartphone App Reveals Captain Levi 3D-AR Experience

    Attack on Titan was created by Hajime Isayama, a manga artist born and raised in Hita, Oita Prefecture. Fans of the manga and anime series can experience the world of the famous series in his hometown, and by downloading a specific smartphone app and traveling to a specific location, they can now experience a new 3D-AR experience featuring Captain Levi. The installation will be installed at the camp resort Paradiso Oita in Oita Prefecture.   The AR application uses colored model data of the Captain Levi statue erected in the plaza in front of Hita Station on March 6, 2021. The realistic image of Captain Levi can be viewed from 360 degrees, and visitors can even take commemorative photos with the popular character!   The installation will be located at the Paradiso Oita Front Ridge, which costs nothing to enter. The grand opening will take place on July 22, 2022. With its convenient location just off the Amagase-Takatsuka interchange on the Oita Expressway, many believe that the installation will help to revive tourism in the area.

    BEAMS MUSIC FESTIVAL 2022 ‘BE FES!’ will be held at Zepp concert halls in Sapporo, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, and Fukuoka from July 5 to August 10, 2022.    The artist lineup and performance venues have been partially changed following the event’s postponement. The lineup will include a variety of unique artists that are all up-and-coming in the Japanese music scene, and the official T-shirts that were previously available for preorder are now available to order again at the BEAMS online store.   Areas around the venue will also offer events, and the BEAMS HAPPY TICKET will be available for guests to enjoy. The ticket is part of a collaboration with restaurants and shops in the area recommended by BEAMS staff.  The festival will be livestreamed so that those unable to attend the venues in person will still be able to enjoy!
