PARCO’s Kyoto Exhibition will be held from November 22 to December 3 at the PARCO Museum where artists from a wide range of fields will collaborate with artisans of Kyoto.
Japan’s city of Kyoto is steeped in history with a culture and tradition of people, professions and products that have been refined over many years. It has given rise to a unique sense of values that are inherently Japanese, as well as countless fine, high quality products.
The exhibition will pivot on both Tokyo, the hub for innovation and cutting edge technology―and Kyoto, which continues to master the essence of traditional craftsmanship. This is in an effort to create new kinds of tradition that can be passed down to future generations.
Soshin Kimura is in charge of supervising the event, a master of the Japanese tea ceremony who has appeared in magazines and on TV. He has knowledge in everything from antiques to subcultures and is an author on kaiseki ryori and fine arts.
There will also be a souvenir store selling cute tradition items from Kyoto as well as the latest in Kyoto crafts.
See the worlds of ancient craftsmanship and modern sensibility come together at PARCO’s Kyoto Exhibition.
