PLUSTOKYO is the much-talked about entertainment facility coming to Ginza in Tokyo that will hold its grand opening on November 27. As people wait for the doors of fun to open, new information regarding the art and food in the establishment has been announced.
One of the areas in the facility is he gallery where artists from creative industry Gas as Interface and creative studio YAR are coming together for the NEON MUSEUM.
An enormous painting of Mount Fuji will decorate the main floor lobby. It was painted by Morio Nakajima, a mural painter of Japanese bath houses.
There is also the wooden B-BOY doll at the main bar which was crafted by Japanese sculptor Taku Obata. Taking a photo with B-BOY is looking to be the must-have Instagram post from PLUSTOKYO.
There’s also the Salon, a special VIP room designed by Wataru Komachi, a hero of the modern times in today’s art industry.
Food during the daytime can be enjoyed with a set brunch that starts at ¥1,700. For dinner there’s a selection of finger food such as fruits and foie gras as well as meals made with chicken farmed in Kyoto, Konohana beef and more.
There’s also a high quality burger made together by The Great Burger and Critters Burger as well as the “Ankoman” set dessert made by long-standing confectionery specialist shops in Ginza.
Mixology Spirits Bang (k) will make a special appearance to serve select drinks, the 6th store of Code Name Mixology Group that uses craft spirits from Japan as their main ingredient. Guests can also enjoy the standing bar over at the Pop Bar where PLUSTOKYO serve a line-up of drinks recommended by themselves.
PLUSTOKYO plans to hold a food market on the rooftop, host a late-night sushi event and more.

PLUSTOKYO is an all-new music lounge in Ginza, Tokyo set to hold its grand opening on November 27, 2018. Details surrounding the facility's reception and opening party have finally been released. Described as 'a new way for adults to have fun,' PLUSTOKYO will fuse music with art, food, workshops and parties.
Its opening day will see creative group Graphickers host an event titled Graphickers NITE centered around Towa Tei. There will also be TOKYO PHOTOGRAPHER'S NIGHT which will see a line-up of well-known photographers come together and Ankoman Night which will bring together some of the major confectionery shops in Ginza. The following day on November 28 will be the PLUSTOKYO RECEPTION PARTY which will see performances from music artists Shuya Okino (Kyoto Jazz Massive), Tomoyuki Tanaka (Fantastic Plastic Machine), Shinichi Osawa (MONDO GROSSO), okadada, and Okamoto Reiji (OKAMOTO'S). PLUSTOKYO is a new music lounge and social gathering place set to hold its grand opening in Ginza, Tokyo on November 27, 2018. Steve Aoki, who just released a song in collaboration with South Korean boy band BTS, will perform at the venue.
Aoki is an American electro house musician, record producer and DJ who was born in Miami and currently resides in California. His family is formed of a string of talent including his father Hiroaki Aoki, also known as Rock Aoki, a wrestler and restauranteur―and his sister Devon Aoki, a model and Hollywood actress. Steve Aoki will perform a rare up-close and intimate DJ show for 500 people at PLUSTOKYO. Tickets are expected to sell out quicky. The performance will take place on December 14. 500 tickets will go on sale via iFlyer on November 20 at noon (JST). Matsuzaki Shoten will hold a special collaboration event between Ginza’s Matsuzaki Senbei and Cat’s ISSUE starting on August 6, 2022. The second exhibition for the popular manga, novel, and anime series That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime will open at Matsuya Ginza on July 21. With over 30 million copies in print, the series has become massively popular both in Japan and abroad, and an anime film is scheduled to release this November. The exhibition will be open until August 9, 2022, and is then scheduled to begin a regional tour. Certain scenes from the highly-anticipated upcoming film will be shown exclusively at the exhibition. Those who are having trouble waiting until November won’t want to miss this rare chance! During the previous exhibition, guests were able to enter a lottery to win a signboard autographed by Miho Okasaki, the voice of Rimuru. From April 2 until April 22, Ginza Tsutaya Books will be holding a 5th-anniversary exhibition featuring art by three young female artists! These creators specialize in drawing girls, and the event will ask one question: what is ‘Kawaii?’ The artists featured are Amane Ishii, Azusa Nozawa, and Yumi Nagata. These three artists have captured the spotlight with their unique styles. Ishii prefers oil painting, Nozawa has a style perfect for manga, and Nagata specializes in more Japanese-style paintings. Those who planned the exhibition noted that the reason these three artists have become so popular stems from how they depict cuteness–they don’t try to conform to society's idea of ‘cute,’ but rather depict what they themselves consider to be cute. Many motifs in Ishii's works are based on the artist's personal experiences, many stemming from childhood. Her unique characters are sure to grab your attention, and although her pieces are two-dimensional, the linework almost makes them seem 3D. For Nozawa, ‘cute’ is the most important element found in her works. She often uses pastels, and something about the way she draws her characters is nostalgic, harkening back to purikura filters and manga characters of the early 2000s. Her unique worldview and nostalgic characters amount to truly one-of-a-kind pieces. The girls appearing in Nagata’s pieces are projections of herself. She draws the clothes she would like to wear and the poses she’d love to strike! Pursuing her idea of ‘cuteness’ with traditional Japanese techniques and paints, she often includes polka dots in her works, which are a feminine symbol. The exhibition will feature two of Ishii's oil paintings and 13 drawings, the first time such a large number of drawings have been shown all at once. In addition, three of Nozawa's new portrait series will be on display, along with nine of Nagata's works. ‘Kawaii’ is one of the most prominent keywords found in contemporary Japanese culture.
