Cardcaptor Sakura Happy New Year’s Campaign Taking Place at KIDDY LAND

Head to one of 26 branches of KIDDY LAND in Japan including Harajuku and Umeda Osaka right now and you’ll find the “Cardcaptor Sakura Special Shop.” The shop is set to hold a special New Year’s campaign from December 26 to January 27.

 

This special Twitter campaign celebrates the final New Year’s holiday of Japan’s Heisei period which is set to end in 2019. Fans that participate can get their hands on some exclusive Sakura merchandise.

The campaign will take place across two periods. The first will begin on December 26 where you can get your hands on a special A2-size calendar poster when you spend over ¥3,000 (including tax) on select items at the Sakura shop.

The second will begin on January 12 where the calendar will be replaced by a special clear bookmark. Both items will only be available for the campaign period.

 

To enter the campaign you must follow the Takara Tomy Cardcaptor Sakura on Twitter and retweet this tweet with the hashtag “#ハッピーニュ ーイヤーCP”. Winners will be selected randomly.

At the shop’s fans can get their hands on limited edition merchandise, new items not yet on sale and more. Cerberus and Momo are also making appearances at the Harajuku and Umeda branches.

    Last year, Chiikawa Land, the first official Chiikawa shop, opened at the Harajuku and Osaka Umeda branches of KIDDYLAND. Both locations will celebrate the 1st anniversary of the shop’s opening with a special fair on August 5, 2022.   Chiikawa is a popular character first revealed by Japanese illustrator Nagano on Twitter. In December 2020, the official online store Chiikawa Market opened, and Nagano released a book compiling the manga panels they drew and posted on Twitter. The characters have become massively popular, with the artist’s social media accounts racking up over 1.1 million followers. From collaboration cafes and exhibitions to a recent anime series, the sky’s the limit for these adorable characters!

    Cardcaptor Sakura made its debut on Japanese television on April 7, 1998. To celebrate the series' 25th anniversary, a number of exciting events are underway! CLAMP’s Cardcaptor Sakura manga series was serialized in the monthly manga magazine Nakayoshi from June 1996 until August 2000 and remains a massive hit to this day.   The series celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2016 with the announcement of a new anime series, Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc, which aired in 2018.
