THE GUEST Cafe & Diner has announced a collaboration with Tokyo Ghoul:re to serve food and drinks inspired by the popular series at its branches in Tokyo, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Osaka for a limited time.

Whenever a Tokyo Ghoul themed cafe has opened in the past the menu always features the “Mazui Sandwich” (literally “gross-tasting sandwich”). As its name suggests, this sandwich tastes disgusting, but for a good reason. In the world of Tokyo Ghoul, ghouls must consume human flesh – anything else, including any sort of food – tastes gross.
Other items on the menu include Kaneki’s Mask Curry which when ordered comes with a drink or sparkling non-alcoholic beverage of your choice served in a vessel inspired by Kaneki’s mask. You’ll look like Kaneki too when drinking out of it.
Another menu item includes roast beef inspired by Tsukiyama, also known as the “Gourmet” in the series. The dish includes cheese that looks like an eyeball, pasta made to look like ears, and of course the meat.

There’s of course plenty of drinks and dessert to tuck into too, such as the sweet red bean soup that come with dango inspired by the characters in the series and their Quinques. Touka’s blue jelly drink also comes with a charm.
Customers dining at the cafe will each get themselves an original Tokyo Ghoul lunch mat, and if you order a drink they’ll receive an original sticker randomly selected from 12 possible designs.

Japanese musician Kunimitsu Takahashi performs the ending theme song Rakuen no Kimi under his solo project österreich for season two of the ongoing anime series Tokyo Ghoul:re. The previously-announced that limited pressing edition has now hit shelves with CD cover artwork drawn by the manga's author Sui Ishida himself.
Takahashi has written up a lengthy column of notes over on the official Rakuen no Kimi webpage about the song. He will post there again in 2019 even after the anime concludes its broadcast. The Tokyo Ghoul:re manga ended in July this year with 37 million copies of the series in print as of December 2018. The final episode of the anime adaptation also aired on December 25.
In recent news for the franchise, it has been announced that an album featuring select music from the series will be released. Titled Tokyo Ghoul AUTHENTIC SOUND CHRONICLE Compiled by Sui Ishida, the album will drop on March 27, 2019. The record draws a line under the anime series up to now. It is described as edgy and conceptual, featuring special curation and direction from the manga's author Sui Ishida. Tracks include all 8 opening and ending themes from Tokyo Ghoul, Tokyo Ghoul √A, and both seasons of Tokyo Ghoul:re. First press copies include a bonus disc that features a playlist of songs that inspired Ishida to request each music artist to get involved with the anime. A new photo has been released for the upcoming Tokyo Ghoul live-action adaptation sequel which features Masataka Kubota who plays Kaneki and Maika Yamamoto who plays Touka. We see the two characters wearing their Anteiku uniforms, a café where Kaneki―a half human and half ghoul―finds himself after a series of events. The establishment provides a refuge for ghouls in need of food.
The live-action film will begin at the café where Kaneki’s greatest enemy―the ‘Gourmet’ Shuu Tsukiyama―will visit. The café will provide a peaceful interval before the immense battles unfold in the film. Further information and announcements surrounding the sequel will be announced in the near future, so stay tuned. The final volume of Tokyo Ghoul:re was released back in July this year, which together with the original series has sold over 37 million copies worldwide. To celebrate the return of Urusei Yatsura after 36 long years, a themed cafe will be coming to four cities in Japan for a limited time! The first cafe will open on December 1, 2022. Urusei Yatsura is a manga series by Rumiko Takahashi that ran in Weekly Shonen Sunday from 1978 until 1987. An anime series aired in 1981 and became a massive hit with audiences, and understandably, it is still loved by anime and manga fans today. The cafe features newly-drawn illustrations of six main characters including Ataru Moroboshi, Lum, and Ten.

The second Tabekko Doubutsu Cafe Stand event opened in Omotesando on November 1, 2022. Paying homage to the classic snack first released in 1978, the cafe features a number of tasty snacks inspired by the thin animal-shaped cookies popular around the world. This second event will run through January 9, 2023. Reservations are required, and many dates were completely sold out prior to the event’s start date, particularly on weekends. We decided to visit, anxious to see what the fuss is all about.
We were first shocked to see the popular animals enjoying oden! Original goods featuring the characters enjoying the quintessential Japanese winter dish are only available at the cafe. From acrylic keychains to figures, visitors can snag some adorable merchandise to commemorate their trip to the exclusive event. Why not snag some items that would be useful on a daily basis, like a notebook or an apron? For food, visitors can snag a special Oden Set and Chinese Dumplings, both perfect for the winter. The oden features popular ingredients like egg, daikon, fish cake, and mochikinchaku, each branded with the popular animal characters. Drinks include soy milk, green tea milk, and milk tea. In addition to the exclusive Lion Cake which is limited to 25 servings a day, guests can find chocolate bananas and other sweets on the menu, including a Sweets Set limited to those reserving special seats at the venue. For every ¥1,000 spent on food and drink items, customers will receive one Tabekko Doubutsu trading card! The exhibition space is a must-see for fans of this legendary snack, filled with rare works including an adorable and very colorful print of every animal holding a bowl of oden. Of course, a photo spot has been set up for visitors to take some prime shots for social media! Don’t miss the animal meet and greet, which is making its triumphant return from the last event!
