Kaori’s Easy Recipe: Learn to Make Hello Kitty Panna Cotta

24.March.2019 | FEATURES / FOOD

With just a small bit of ingenuity, turn everyday food into something cute using Kaori’s easy recipe! With a few simple ideas, an ordinary recipe magically transforms into a cute dish.

In this recipe, you’ll learn how to make a Hello Kitty panna cotta♡

1. Ingredients

150ml milk

20g sugar

50g fresh cream

20g honey

3g gelatin (soaked in 1 tbsp water)

Strawberries

2.

①Heat the milk, sugar and honey together on a low heat.

②Once the sugar and honey have melted, remove from the heat. Add the water-soaked gelatin and melt into the mixture with the residual heat from the pan and then add the cream.

③Line the inside of a glass with thinly sliced strawberries.

3.

Place your panna cotta liquid from step ② into a bowl of ice to cool. Use a rubber spatula like in the photo to trace the mixture, ensuring to cool it until it is thick enough that a line can be traced through it.

*It will be difficult for the liquid to pour between the strawberries and glass if you pour in liquid that has been cooled too thoroughly.

4.

Pour the mixture gently into the glass and place into the refrigerator to cool until it has solidified.

While you wait, it’s time to turn strawberries into Hello Kitty. Let’s take a look how to do this in the video below.

5.

Use a cotton swab to roll out some chocolate plastic and then cut with a cutter into ovals.

Warm with your hands while affixing to the strawberry.

After attaching it’s time to draw the face. I used the end of a pick I bought from Seria (a ¥100 shop).

The dessert is only moderately sweet, so I tried adding some strawberry fruit sauce and fresh cream on top♡

  • Kaori’s Easy Recipe: Learn to Make Hello Kitty crêpes

    10.March.2019 | FEATURES / FOOD

Today we’ll be looking at a recipe for Hello Kitty-themed crêpes ー perfect for White Day! You can make these using ingredients usually found at home. This recipe is easy and so is recommended for children and for those of you who aren’t used to making desserts!   1:Ingredients  20cm frying pan (makes 2 large and 1 small crêpes.) Egg White 1 Wheat flour 25gSugar                  1 tbspVegetable oil       1/2 tbspMilk                     50ccChocolate pen (black and yellow colours)   You can fill the crêpe with whatever you like. Today’s filling is strawberries and cream because the outside of the crêpe will be decorated with a Hello Kitty ribbon made from strawberries.   2:Make the batter ① Thoroughly mix the egg whites. ② Add the contents of ① to the flour and sugar and mix thoroughly. ③ Add ② to the milk and mix thoroughly even more! ④ Filter the contents of ③.   If you forget to filter then you will not get a smooth, beautiful batter when you fry your crêpes so be careful!   3:FryWe recommend you use a Teflon frying pan. As you want to make the crêpe into Hello Kitty’s face, do not cook the crêpe too much or it will become too dark! Therefore, keep it on a low flame. This can also be done well using a hot plate!    Please refer to the above video to learn how to fold and decorate the crêpe.   Before spreading out the crêpe and filling it with cream, cut a small piece of crêpe and place it in the centre of the larger crêpe. After this, you can put the cream on top. This ensures a smooth finish for Hello Kitty's face as it is otherwise slightly translucent. And...finished!   Kaori-san plans to continue to release articles on how to create character-themed desserts! Using egg yolk, stick the hollow circle from Step 4 onto the circle from Step 3. For the ears, check the size of the face you have cut out and cut them accordingly.
