28.May.2019 | MUSIC

GAYSHA GALs is a Japanese idol group of drag queen who formed in collaboration with ASOBISYSTEM to help spread awareness around the world of Japanese LGBTQ culture. The group recently entertained the crowd of Tokyo Rainbow Pride 2019 last month, Japan’s biggest pride event in celebration of love and acceptance.

The gals just dropped their brand new digital single Kira Kira☆MAKE UP today.

The new track was produced by DJ and record producer RAM RIDER who worked on the group’s previous song Don’t Cry Boys ~Busu ni Namida wa Niawanai~. It centres around makeup and is a positive affirmation on being ‘kawaii.’ One listen of its catchy melody will have listeners hooked. Its lyrics, too, are sure to resonate with women. At the end of the track we get to hear the gals talking with each other too.

Kira Kira☆MAKE UP is the first of several releases from GAYSHA GALs that are set to roll out over the next 4 months. They will be released on the final Tuesday of every month―the same monthly date on which the group hold their live event “OZASHIKI” at AiSOTOPE LOUNGE in Shinjuku Ni-Chome―until August. If you’re in Japan during that time don’t miss your chance to see them perform live.
