07.June.2019 | SPOT

Get your sun lotion and beachwear ready as Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse announces its summer event RED BRICK BEACH which is set to shine from July 27 to August 25.

RED BRICK BEACH has been taken place since 2011 and this will mark its ninth run. The event started to offer people a resort-like experience while in Yokohama. With the warehouse facing the sea at Minato Mirai, this year’s theme is “private beach” and will maintain that same chilled resort atmosphere. The design of this year’s event was left up to SOLSO, who came up with the theme of “Urban Farming.” SOLSO are professional agricultural producers who managed various establishments as well as weekend-only shops such as SOLSO FARM in Kawasaki and SOLSO PARK in Minami-Aoyama.

Upon entering the event visitors will catch sight of the palm trees which tower over 4 different areas each with their own concepts. In the central area is the white sand sandy beach. Here you can sit under the colourful tents and enjoy the refreshing sea breeze. There’s also hammocks as well as wooden decks where food and drinks will be sold.

Green Curry: ¥1,200 (Tax Included)

Tuck into an eye-catching green curry packed with fragrant herbs. It’s both refreshing and has a delightfully spicy kick to it.

Rainbow Frappe: ¥700 (Tax Included)

If you’re looking to cool down, why not pick up the Rainbow Frappe? This jelly drink is a tower of different flavoured jellies including orange, mint and hibiscus.

Tommy’s Margarita: ¥800 (Tax Included)

Tommy’s Margarita was conceived in 1990 in San Francisco at the restaurant Tommy’s which was established in 1965.

Food at the event is focused on “tasty and spicy.” Lunch and cafe time will be during the daytime while the evening will see the arrival of bar time. Alcohol will be served along with snacks and finger food during bar time.

Nighttime events will also run on weekends. Whether you’re there to enjoy the sun during the day or chill with some feel-good music and warm illuminations, you’re sure to enjoy a memorable summertime at RED BRICK BEACH.
