The Star Festival celebration Tanabata Days is currently underway at Disneyland, but it’s already over 30 degrees outside. You’ll find yourself all sweaty just by standing up. That’s why today we will be introducing you to foods and drinks that will keep you cool and refreshed in this baking heat.
A Cute Mickey Biscuit Ice Cream ♡
Head to ICE CREAM CONES at World Bazaar to get your hands on a soft serve ice cream with chocolate (￥500). A wafer cone is filled with delicious soft serve ice cream and then topped with chocolate sauce and bright, colourful chocolate. Finally, a biscuit decorated with Mickey’s winky face is placed on top.
The shop’s interior is decorated with cute pastel colours which make it the perfect spot for a picture, however, a picture with Cinderella’s castle in the background is also a grand idea.
This is perfect for those of you who are looking for something both refreshing and cute. The ice cream has a rejuvenating flavour and tastes perfect along with the bitter cone.
A Refreshing Cold Meal: Beef Salad Udon Noodles
This one is recommended for those of you who are hungry but want to eat something cool rather than a burger. If this is you, head to Plazma Ray’s Diner at Tomorrowland for their cold beef karubi udon (￥780).
Thick cold noodles are served in a delicious soup along with pieces of beef, aubergine, okra and other summer vegetables. It even includes a pink fish paste cake cut into the shape of Mickey’s face. You are bound to finish this refreshing meal quickly on a hot summer’s day.
Perfect for the Peckish : A Sweet Treat
The same shop sells a Monsters, Inc-themed Mike sandwich biscuit that is filled with chocolate ganache (￥400). This is the perfect pick-me-up when you’re in search of a quick energy boost.
Cool chocolate and marshmallows are squished between the two biscuits. Have you noticed the giant eye on the top of the biscuit? You just won’t be able to resist taking a photo. When you’re slightly peckish, make sure to give it a try!
A Moderately Sweet Refreshing Drink
This one is for the coffee-lovers. Pop by Café Orléans to pick up the D’s Delights Vanilla Smoothie & Coffee Jelly (￥500). Underneath the vanilla smoothie is a layer of coffee jelly. The top of the smoothie is filled with cocoa. We recommend you thoroughly mix the vanilla smoothie and coffee jelly before drinking it. The sweetness of the smoothie and the bitterness of the coffee jelly are a match made in heaven. When you’re tired of walking and need something sweet and refreshing, this drink is sure to power you up back to full battery.
Fruity Shaved Ice With Actual Fruit Pieces
Last but not least is the Shaved Ice (￥400) which is sold at many places including Huey, Dewey and Louie’s Good Time Cafe. There are two flavours to choose from; Japanese pear and Japanese orange. The sauce poured all over your ice contains actual pieces of fruit that will bring you right back to life. If you pay an extra ￥400, you can get your shaved ice served in a Toy Story-themed souvenir cup that you can take back home with you.

Previously unnamed, Tokyo DisneySea's new themed port which is currently under development with a completion window of 2022 is to be called Fantasy Springs. The area is part of a project to expand Tokyo DisneySea. It will be the eighth themed port with approximately ¥250 billion being invested into its construction, the most expensive expansion of Tokyo Disney Resort.
The port is placed into a Disney fantasy world where magical springs flow. It will be made up of three Disney-themed areas: Frozen, Tangled and Peter Pan. Each area will have its own themed attractions and restaurants where guests can immerse themselves in the world of the films. The most luxurious rooms of the Disney Hotel will tower over the springs which will be home to a total of four new attractions, three restaurants and a shop. ©Disney -
Hi, everyone. I'm Midori, part of the editorial team here at MOSHI MOSHI NIPPON. Tanabata, also known at the Star Festival, is a traditional annual festival in Japan which celebrates the meeting of the deities Orihime and and Hikoboshi who are only able to see each other once a year. Right now at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea a special Tanabata event is being held called "Tanabata Days." It began on June 6 and will run until July 7. During the Tanabata season in Japan, people write their wishes on tanzaku, small pieces of paper, and hang them up before praying to the stars. If you head on over to Tokyo Disneyland right now you can do just that!
At the entrance to Tokyo Disneyland in the World Bazaar is the "Wishing Place" where guests are invited to jot down their wishes. You'll find it by spotting the two Tanabata decorations of Mickey and Minnie. If you look really close you'll see that the characters are holding their own washing cards too. Be sure to sneak a peek♡ You'll also find Donald and Daisy to the side of Cinderella's castle. Guests can get their own wishing cards from one of the cast members dressed in yukata. The cards are yellow. The cast also have pens and desks prepared for guests too. Once you've written your wish the next step is to hang it at the Wishing Place. The colours of the cards are different at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. Perhaps your wish will be granted? When the evening settles in the Wishing Place is lit up and renamed the Starlight Wishing Place. The illuminations represent the stars and constellations that float in the Milky Way, all references to Tanabata. You're sure to enjoy a magical and romantic Tanabata at this event, so be sure to check it out. The visuals and lights are of course gorgeous, but the music is wonderful! Hi everyone, this is Midori from MMN’s Editorial Department.This summer at DisneySea, Duffy and Friends are holding a fun event called Duffy's Summer Fun which will be held from June 6 to August 8, 2019. During the event, there will be cute Duffy-themed food, new decorations and photo spots so I just had to go witness it for myself. This is what I found!
Iced Caramel Milk Tea with Souvenir Coaster: ￥1,000 (after tax)
This iced caramel milk tea comes with a coaster that is an inflatable swim ring. The milk tea comes with the inflatable swim ring as a set at Cape Cod Confections which is located inside the American Waterfront.
The float coaster and its summery design includes not only Duffy, but also ShellieMay and many other friends. Even before the floats were released, fans were amazed by the cute designs. In fact, there was a large queue for them on the first day of sales!You can also take a cute photo together with Duffy. If you want a photo with Duffy, you should head to Cape Cod where many have been set up. Finding your perfect spot couldn't be easier! The milk tea is moderately sweet with a mild bitter caramel flavour. It's perfect to sip while on walk down the streets of Cape Cod. The burger in the Duffy Pawprint burger contains a beef patty with lettuce and grated cheese. This is topped with taco meat sauce. Unique Park Decorations Around Every CornerThere are so many decorations that are mainly focussed around the Cape Cod area. These are only around for the event period. You can actually sit in these chairs. This is another example of a photospot where you can take a seat alongside the Duffy crew, who are waiting to take a dip in the sea! How about taking a photo of your own Duffy in the chair? After a short walk, you will discover Duffy and Friends again but this time, they are playing in a sandbox. You could take a photo of them as they are but feel free to join them. ♪ There are also large decorations around the park, which are the perfect spots to take photos with your friends. Of course these photo spots are a great opportunity to take lots of selfies, but you could also take a picture of your own stuffed Duffy toy which could be quite interesting. If you have your own Duffy toy at home, you just cannot go to DisneySea without them! There is even a photo spot at DisneySea Station (Disney Resort line) located in front of the entrance to Disney Resort. Please do not forget to check this out. As part of the Tanabata Days program, Tokyo DisneySea is holding the Tanabata Greeting where guests will be greeted by the Disney cast aboard boats in the park's central lake.
At the greeting I went to Mickey and Minnie were on board the boat dressed in Tanabata-themed outfits. They were both like Orihime and Hikoboshi and looked so beautiful! Duffy the Disney Bear and ShellieMay were there too. I saw Disney princes and princesses too♡ Aladdin and Jasmine were there to celebrate Tanabata too. Guests are even invited to sing the Japanese nursery rhyme Tanabata-sama along with Mickey. Tokyo Disneyland® and Tokyo DisneySea® are set to host their special Disney Halloween event again this year from September 10 to October 31. Additionally, several park facilities and services will hold their own Halloween programs this year, including at the Disney Hotel, on the Disney Resort Line, at IKSPIARI, and elsewhere.
The theme at Tokyo DisneySea this year is "a dark and bewitching Halloween." Guests are invited to a mysterious but showy Halloween festival. The park's first ever "Festival of Mystique" show will be held at Porto Paradiso where an evil power will creep. Mickey Mouse and the other Disney cast will work to recover Halloween from this wicked power. The theme at Tokyo Disneyland is "ghosts" where guests will be pulled into a spooky and exciting ghostly Halloween experience. At the "Spooky Boo! Parade," Mickey and Minnie will don all-new ghost costumes and beckon guests to join them in the spine-chilling and enticing celebrations. When the sun sets and evening covers the sky, Halloween music, visuals and lights will arise from the World Bazaar, and a new photo spot will be present for guests to take a picture together with the ghosts. Tokyo DisneySea's new entertainment program "Song of Mirage" is set to open at the Hangar Stage in Lost River Delta on July 23. In the run up to its release, Tokyo Disney Resort unveiled a photograph of Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy donning their adventure costumes. Song of Mirage will see the four characters seek out the illusionary city of Rio Dorado which has been sought after by many adventurers. The performance will include an original story, singing, dancing and projection mapping.

Cute plush toy badges will also be available to purchase from July 17 of the four characters all in their Song of Mirage outfits. For Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy to find the lost city of Rio Dorado, they need to be able to believe that dreams can come true. The Happy Ride with Baymax: The world's first Big Hero 6 attraction
The Happy Ride with Baymax ride has guests joining one of the personal healthcare companion robots on an exciting cart ride. The world of Beauty and the Beast brought to life
The area connects Belle's village to Beast's castle by way of the forest. At the entrance to the village, guests will immediately spot the cottage of Maurine, Belle's father and the vilage inventor. Beyond that is Gaston's water fountain as well as a restaurant inspired by Gaston's bar. There are also other shops that Belle visits in the film, such as the bookshop. It's like stepping into the magical world itself. When you leave the village and head through the forest, you are met by the spectacle that is Beast's castle, coloured in a cute pink. There's a large-scale attraction inside called "Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast." The Tokyo Disneyland-original attraction "Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast"
The attraction, located inside the towering 30m-tall castle, features magical cups that guests board. The cups dance in rhythm to music from the film as they take guests through iconic moments seen in the Disney classic. There are many surprises and discoveries to be found inside the castle. The Village Shops area features a line of shops inspired by those seen in Belle's town, each of which sells various items from clothing to accessories and souvenirs. There are around 100 pieces of merchandise for fans to sift through. The shops are also carrying out measures against COVID-19, showcasing the items in a display only so they cannot be touched when entering the store. Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea launched their first ever music playlists on all major streaming websites on Friday, including on Spotify and Apple Music.
Music from Tokyo Disneyland features everything from famous ballads and show music from the park to Tokyo Disneyland's nostalgic anniversary theme song, a "Ride Through Mix" that has you feeling like you're on the park's attractions, and more. It's a magic-filled Tokyo Disneyland musical fantasy. Music from Tokyo DisneySea follows the same course as the Tokyo Disneyland playlist, except it also has the theme songs of the park's seven ports. It's packed full of imagination the likes of which you can only experience at Tokyo DisneySea. Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea will be temporarily closed until March 15 to reduce the spread of the new coronavirus. Japan's Coronavirus Countermeasures Taskforce has advised that there is a high risk of spreading the infection at large-scale sports and culture events and facilities where large numbers of people travel from across the country and congregate in one area. As many facilities and events in Tokyo are being restricted, postponed and even cancelled over the next two weeks, Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea announced that both parks will close temporarily from February 29 - March 15, 2020. The parks plan to reopen on March 16, 2020, however this will be decided following consultation with concerned administrative agencies and will be announced on their official website. If you have already purchased tickets which are valid during the parks' closing dates, please refer to the links below.

The world is about to get its first Big Hero 6 themed park attraction, "The Happy Ride with Baymax," at Tokyo Disneyland when it opens on April 15, 2020. In promotion of the exciting new ride, Tokyo Disneyland has announced it will serve six different Baymax inspired menu items starting from April 8ーa week before The Happy Ride with Baymax's grand opening.

When you think of Baymax, you think of his white, chubby round face and body. Well, that image has been brought to life in this curry dish, with Baymax's cute appearance recreated in the form of white rice. Tokyo Disneyland's new biggest area is set to open on April 15, 2020, which will house four new exciting facilities: the new Beauty and the Beast attraction, the Fantasyland Forest Theatre, the Baymax's Happy Ride attraction, and the Minnie's Style Studio. To celebrate the new area's opening, several restaurants and eateries in Tokyo Disneyland will serve up some special menu items.
