This time, Arisa will change Japan’s soul food, the “onigiri” (rice ball), into stylish looking pinchos.
■Ingredients
・Rice 180g
・A little salt
・2 umeboshi (dried plum)
・4 shiso (beefsteak plant)
・Shirasu (whitebait) 10g
・Salmon 30g
・Red shiso furikake
・1/2 cucumber
・Broccoli sprouts 3g
・Bamboo skewers
■How to Prepare
①Add a pinch of salt to the rice and add the furikake.
②Divide the rice into 1 portion sizes of onigiri (1 = approx. 30g).
③Add your favourite toppings. Here are 3 different kinds.
1. Shirasu/Ume/Shiso onigiri
2.Rice wrapped in thinly peeled cucumber with salmon on top.
3.Rice mixed with red shiso furikake wrapped in shiso
④Decorate them by finishing them off with a fork or bamboo skewer
If you don’t have any of the above ingredients, you can use any of your favourite toppings and improvise! It’s an easy-to-make party food, so please try it out for yourself.

The Kansai Television drama Zenra Meshi, starring Yutaro, is getting an official photobook release on June 23, 2023 titled Zenra Meshi Official Photobook -Our Recipes Start Here-. The unusual romantic comedy follows an elite businessman hiding an incredible secret–he loves to eat naked to relieve his stress. One day, this habit is revealed, and Ichijo finds himself quickly falling in love. The official photobook will include over 30 pages of gravure photos of Yutaro (Miki Mahiro) and Shori Kondo (Futa Ichijo). Set as an epilogue taking place after the main story shown in the series, Futa and Miki can be seen enjoying a picnic date with a handmade bento and spending cozy time together in PJs at home. Also included are 20 pages of solo photos of Futa wearing a suit and posing in front of a beautiful night scene and Miki wearing a hoodie in a restaurant that smells of spices. Both shoots were intended to look as though a lover snapped the images. Online cake shop Cake.jp has begun selling a collection of six onigiri-shaped cakes inspired by the character Inumaki Toge from the popular anime series Jujutsu Kaisen! The items were originally released to great fanfare in December, and are now available again for a limited time. Inumaki Toge is able to use curses simply by speaking, and in order to avoid hurting anyone close to him, the only words he uses are the names of onigiri fillings.
