MUJI Japan are now selling Uji matcha flavoured confectionaries as sold in tea houses around Kyoto. The sweets went on sale on December 21st and are available at MUJI stores around Japan.
(Sales became available on the MUJI Online Stores from the December 22nd. The “Uji Matcha Baumkuchen” and “Uji Matcha Pound Cake” go on sale from December 23rd)
The selection of sweets are made with the same blend of matcha that has been historically used in stores in Kyoto. Experts of matcha have carefully select only the best matcha to use in the tasty treats so that you can always enjoy the deliciousness of matcha as it is meant to be eaten.
You can also purchase powdered Uji matcha and matcha drops filled with whole strawberries, both released in September this year, as well as the Uji matcha latte released last month. All of these popular products use the same matcha as mentioned earlier. As well as that, you can enjoy the “Uji Matcha Baumkuchen” sticks, crunchy “Uji Matchi and Adzuki Cookies”, “Uji Matcha Chocolate Beans” and more, for a total of 9 different scrumptious matcha treats. There’s an array of other sweets and candy to choose from too which will make the perfect souvenir for taking back home.

McDonald’s Japan locations with ‘McCafe by Barista’ areas will begin selling special spring treats for a limited time starting April 6, 2022. Customers will be able to grab the ‘Strawberry Uji Matcha Frappe’ and the ‘Uji Matcha Mont Blanc Tart.’ McCafe by Barista invites guests to enjoy high-quality frappes and smoothies. The Uji Matcha Frappe was added to the regular product lineup in June 2021, and features a mellow matcha flavor. The Strawberry variant is coming back for the first time in three years. Vintage Furniture Exhibition ‘Life in Art: Tokyo Modernism 2022’ to Open at Three Venues Including MUJI HOTEL GINZA
Ryohin Keikaku, which operates the interior design brand IDÉE, will open the ‘Life in Art: Tokyo Modernism 2022’ exhibition from February 25 until April 10, 2022. Vintage stores and galleries from all over Japan that deal mainly with furniture from the 1940s to 1960s will come together to introduce audiences to exquisite designs from around the world. Shinichiro Nakahara and Takahiro Goko have organized the exhibition in an effort to spread the word about modern design in the golden age. The ‘Found MUJI Exhibition - Journey to Meet Good Things-' event will be held at ATELIER MUJI between November 12 and December 12. 10 years have passed since Found MUJI Aoyama was founded in Tokyo, having since visited over 30 countries and regions. Found MUJI explores the life and culture of land, researching tools, handicrafts, and techniques to help improve daily living - Hence the name 'Found' MUJI. From roadside benches and mops dried in the eaves to aluminium stoves, each tool is naturally used on the land without consideration. Our daily lives are filled with various items. When, and why, did we start using those in particular? How did we discover them? Why do we keep them so close? If you take a closer look at the items you consider to be precious, you should be able to understand why you were attracted to it, love it, and hold it dear to you. Start by loving the items which are close to you - Look at then with a renewed outlook to find what you think is good about each item.
