CAFE MANGOSIX is a hugely popular cafe in South Korea which serves healthy drinks and desserts themed on its 6 S’s concept: Sensual, Slim, Sweet, Social, Sexy, and Style.
Their must-try beverage is the Mango & Coconut Juice which combines rich mango with sweet coconut milk. The cafe even has some drinks exclusive to Japan so you won’t find them anywhere else!
The popular Blue Lemonade from South Korea is also being sold.

Shin Okubo is known as Japan’s Korea town, taking in all the current trends from Korea before anywhere else. It’s also become a hot spot for food and dining. Today, I’m here to show you the perfect thing to cool you down from the summer heat. I visited the Seoul Café to try their “Seoul Bingsu” which looks like a spool of thread. It’s looking to be the next big thing with its unique texture.
Seoul Café is located on the second floor of a building just a 5-minute walk from Shin Okubo Station.
It just opened in March of this year. Its interior is based on the colour white against white sits stylish decor. At this café you order at the counter. I went ahead and got the “Seoul Bingsu Mango” (¥1,300).
It comes with a huge slice of mango! And just like its name implies, it looks like thread. Using a fork to eat it feels fresh too, it’s a fun way to enjoy shaved ice.
The centre is packed full of fluffy shaved ice. It’s super soft and melts in your mouth, but since it’s packed tightly it’s satisfyingly filling. It’s easy to eat and has a unique texture. And if you eat it together with the mango it makes for an even tastier dessert♡
Seoul Café’s menu is full of Instagrammable desserts. In addition to the Seoul Bingsu there’s also Seoul Waffles and lots more.

On July 16 this year, a new branch of Moomin Stand―a drinks shop inspired by the Finnish children’s books The Moomins―opened in Asakusa, one of the most popular tourist spots in Tokyo.
Moomin Stand serves original fruity beverages, drinks with rich milk bases and more, all with chewy tapioca-like pearls.
Moonmin Stand is produced by Moomin Café. The first branch opened in Kichijoji and proved popular with women in their 20s and 30s, high school and university students, and families with children. It continues to enjoy flurries of customers; you’re guaranteed to be lining up on weekends.
Strawberry Daifuku Milk – ¥700 (Before Tax)
The newly-released Strawberry Daifuku Milk drink is exclusive to the Asakusa branch. Its mix of sweet and sour strawberry flavour with the chewy pearls gives a texture reminiscent to daifuku, a traditional Japanese confection which takes mochi and stuffs it with a sweet filling. The drink has a delicious white bean paste base and is topped off with fresh pieces of strawberry.
The café interior is decorated with beautiful illustrations from The Moomins making for plenty of great photo opportunities. There is also a bar to lean on as well as spaces on the wall to rest your back on to relax with your drink after walking around.
All drinks also come with a cute Hattifattener straw toy that bites onto straws and pens which you can take home with you.
After you’ve taken a stroll around Asakusa and seen the Kaminari gate, Nakamise Shopping Street and Sensō-ji temple, why not stop off at Moonmin Stand for refreshments?

Tapioca is really booming in Japan! But it’s not just Japan… there’s a tapioca craze all over Asia! Tapioca drinks from Taiwan and many other countries are gradually arriving in Japan! Today I just had to try a drink from Taiwan’s incredibly famous shop Fukkadan, which is booming with popularity in Korea! No wonder there’s a Fukkadan located in Tokyo’s largest Korea Town Shin Okubo! I hurried over as fast as I could.
Fukkadan is located along Okubo-dori Street, which is one of the main streets of Shin Okubo. As you exit Shin Okubo station, take a right turn and after a short walk… you’re there!
It’s a small shop and you can’t drink in, so be careful to not miss it!
You just have to see the pan full of tapioca pearls!
There are five drinks on the menu ranging from brown sugar tapioca to matcha. I just had to go for the brown sugar tapioca milk tea. By looking around me, this does seem like a popular drink. You cannot customise the amount of ice or syrup in your drink.
The luxurious shop logo is the perfect place for a picture! There’s also something written in Hangul under the logo! How rare!
The gradation of colours of the brown sugar tapioca and the syrup is so cute! I chewed the tapioca balls to find that the brown sugar flavour completely penetrates through them. This sweet drink is very refreshing and delicious! You can really taste the milk of the milk tea. Overall, it’s quite sweet…like a brown sugar latte. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, this drink has you name written all over it!
While you’re strolling the streets of Shin Okubo, this tapioca milk tea is the perfect companion! It offers a unique flavour that you absolutely must try! How about comparing it to a Korean tapioca drink ??

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu inspired music lovers around the world in April when she performed at Coachella, one of the largest music festivals on Earth. The second half of the singer’s 10th anniversary nationwide tour 31-show has begun, and in conjunction with this special event, the LOCAL POWER JAPAN Project was launched to energize Japan through the appeal of regional towns and cities. As with past concert locations, a new collaboration has been announced ahead of Kyary’s June 23 performance in Okinawa, where the artist held an additional show.
In Okinawa, Kyary is teaming up with the popular souvenir shop Okashi Goten, known for its Beni-imo (purple sweet potato) tarts. The shop itself looks similar to Shuri Castle from the outside, and as guests enter, they’re surrounded by products made exclusively from Okinawan ingredients. This collaboration pays homage to where it all began, with the special logo inspired by Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s 2011 debut mini-labum Moshi Moshi Harajuku.
Fans will be able to buy a special box of these tasty tarts, with the outside stamped with ‘Moshi Moshi Beni-imo Tart’ and a drawing of Kyary inspired by the cover of her 2011 album.
This item is now available at all shops offering Okashi Goten products and at the Okashi Goten online store.
A collaborative T-shirt is also on sale featuring the new logo and the singer’s 10th-anniversary logo. The shirt is available on the LOCAL POWER JAPAN Project website for two weeks only starting July 22.

Located along the Meguro River, Haute Couture Cafe is known for serving up some of the best afternoon tea in Tokyo.
