Tokyo DisneySea has announced that it will hold a special event next year titled “Pixar Playtime” from January 10 to March 19. The event will plunge guests into the world of Disney•Pixar animated films.
The exciting “Pixar Playtime Pals” stage show is returning again for Pixar Playtime 2020. Guests will be invited to join in with familiar faces from the Pixar character cast for the show, which will take place at Mediterranean Harbor. Bo Peep from Toy Story 4 will make her first-ever appearance. At the end of the show, an entire band of characters will take to the stage for a grand finale with colourful balloons and decorations.
Head over to American Waterfront to catch the one and only Lightning McQueen from the Cars film series who will be rolling his way to greet the crowd. Guests are encouraged to join in with the Lightning McQueen Victory Lap where they will parade around the New York area along to jubilant music.
There will also be a Ratatouille stall where you can have fun cooking together with Remy.

Horizon Bay Restaurant is serving up around 20 exciting dishes based on the Pixar cast, including an ocean-themed hamburger inspired by Finding Nemo and a roll cake based on the lovable Dory.

Decorations Forky from Toy Story 4 will also be making an appearance around the park.

Sanrio launched its #HelloGlobalGoals (#HelloSDGs) co-project with the United Nations at the UN headquarters on September 24 which sees their popular character Hello Kitty helping to spread the words about Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 global goals established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015 to be reached by the year 2030. This includes “No Poverty,” “Zero Hunger,” “Climate Action” and so on.
Since September last year, Hello Kitty has been helping to promote SDGs on her YouTube channel as part of Japan’s involvement in the global efforts. The UN recognised this, and had Hello Kitty join them at the headquarters in New York at the SDG Media Zone presentation, which was attended by people around the world, where they announced #HelloGlobalGoals.
Hello Kitty dressed up in the SDG promotional colours and appeared alongside Amina Mohammed, the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, who expressed her wish for more people around the world to come to learn about SDGs, as well as to create a world where everybody can get along harmoniously and with kindness.
At the event, all 17 goals were showcased on a huge art piece featuring Hello Kitty to break the project down and make it easier for people to understand.
Up to now, Hello Kitty has posted videos about what Japan has been doing for the SDGs on her channel, but now she will begin posting about countries around the world at the behest of Amina Mohammed in a new video series as shown above.
Hello Kitty’s dress for the #HelloGlobalGoals is rainbow-coloured, representing each of the goals. This is the dress she will wear for her forthcoming SDG promotional activities.

Tobu Zoo is set to turn on 3 million LED lights for its winter illumination event that will run from October 26 to February 11 next year.
Tobu Zoo has lots of surprises lined up for this year’s event, including an illumination installation made in collaboration with male Japanese singer Amatsuki, which will bring together lights and music. This will include a giant LED display showing music videos from Amatsuki in addition to exclusive and original videos, a 50 meter long light tunnel with Amatsuki-inspired decorations and his music playing, and more. Full details are to be announced in the coming weeks.
“Illumination Show” Giant LED Display (Location: In front of Heartful Garden)
The “Illumination Show” will make use of the biggest LED display in Japan’s Kanto region, combining music with CG visuals, and illuminated decorations will twinkle in front of it. This year, the display will also feature new full-colour lasers. Three magical and dynamic shows will light up the area, including the Amatsuki Live Illumination show.
Heartful Garden (Location: Heartful Garden)
The zoo’s Heartful Garden spans 8,000 m², and it’s here that bright and beautiful flower topiary installations will be set up.
Theatrical Projection Mapping (Location: Tobu Zoo HOLA! Event Stage) *Running from November 30, 2019
The zoo’s 1,300 capacity event stage HOLA! will make use of breathtaking ‘theatrical projection mapping’ which will be projected onto the stage and the ceiling
The theme of this year’s projection mapping event is an animal musical which will serve up an incredible entertainment show for the audience. Various animals will make an appearance in the form of projection mapping to tell a story with dance and music.
Cherry Blossom Illuminations (Location: East Gate, Swan Pond)
Gorgeous cherry blossom-coloured lights will be strung on the Yoshino cherry trees lining the Swan Pond, creating a pink panorama right before your eyes.
Amusement Park Illuminations (Location: Around the amusement park)
Lights will also twinkle around the attractions in the amusement park, creating a different atmosphere than daytime, and there will also be various photo areas themed on fairy tale worlds including Cinderella, Princess Kaguya, The Little Mermaid and more.

Bravebuddy, inspired by Buzz Lightyear, has a distinctive chin and a smirk. Many Many Many, inspired by the Little Green Men, has a bright green fluffy body and big round eyes. Greed, inspired by Buzz’s nemesis the evil Emperor Zurg, has pointy horn-like ears and bright red eyes while still being adorable.
