Mister Donuts Releases Irresistible Collection in Collaboration with Pierre Hermé

Mister Donuts will be releasing its first new doughnuts collection of 2020 called ‘misdo meets PIERRE HERMÉ Patisserie Donuts Collection’. The collection contains six new flavours and was launched on January 10, 2020. The delicious doughnuts are now being sold across Japan for a limited period. 

 

Since 2017, Mister Donut has taken their commitment to their slogan “the happiness you want is coming right up” to the next level with their collaboration series ‘misdo meets’ which uses the highest quality of ingredients and skill. This year, they have teamed up with French pastry and chocolatier brand Pierre Hermé for their 10th collaboration brand of doughnuts, marking Mr Donut’s first ever collaboration with an overseas brand. 

 The ‘misdo meets PIERRE HERMÉ Patisserie Donuts Collection’ contains a series of doughnuts made using Pierre Hermé’s fetish collection flavours including Ispahan, Satine and much more.

Pon de Ispahan (Rose, Lychee and Framboise) Take Away: ¥194 (After Tax) Eat-In: ¥198 (After Tax)

In the Pon de Ispahan, Rose, lychee and framboise flavours are combined in a unique harmony to create the same flavour as Pierre Hermé’s flagship product, the Ispahan. The ring-shaped framboise chocolate doughnut is decorated with framboise granules and filled with rose and lychee cream. *Rose and lychee flavouring is used. 

Satine Fashion (Orange, Passion fruit and Cream Cheese) Take Away: ¥183 (After Tax) Eat-In: ¥187 (After Tax)

Pierre Hermé’s signature Satine Cheesecake is transformed into an old-fashioned doughnut and topped with cream cheese that is as soft as mousse, and a tangy orange and passion fruit jam to create the Satine Fashion.

 

Mr Donut has also released a second doughnuts collection that was inspired by Pierre Hermé’s popular chocolate flavour Mogador Plénitude, which gently falls apart in your mouth.

Mogador (Chocolat, Orange and Passionfruit): Take Away: ¥248 (After Tax) Eat-In: ¥253 (After Tax)

This Mogador chocolate doughnut is based on a financier almond cake and Pierre Hermé’s chocolate Mogador. The doughnut contains ganache cream, ganache whipped cream and orange and passion fruit jam. The doughnut is garnished with chocolate and candied orange peel. 

Plénitude (Chocolat & Caramel) Take Away: ¥248 (After Tax) Eat-In: ¥253 (After Tax)

The Plénitude is also based on a financier almond cake and is made using Pierre Hermé’s Chocolat-flavoured Plénitude. The doughnut contains salted caramel cream, salted caramel whipped cream and ganache cream. Finally, it is sprinkled with delicious chocolate and candied almonds. 

 

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, these luxurious doughnuts are the perfect treat to share with that special someone. This is also the perfect opportunity to try one of Pierre Hermé’s delicious original flavours in a doughnut.

  • New Mister Donut Collaboration with Gion Tsujiri Inspires TV Ad Starring Masaki Suda

    Mister Donut is teaming up with Gion Tsujiri, a traditional green tea maker in Uji, Kyoto, for some tasty new treats starting March 25 for a limited time. Four new items will be available until the end of April. To celebrate the new collaboration, a new TV commercial starring actor Masaki Suda has started airing nationwide.

Remaking on the soft and chewy texture of the new items–which are kneaded with Gion Tsujiri’s Uji Green Tea–Suda slowly falls in love with Mister Donut and commands viewers to do the same. How could you not?   Which of these new items look the best?

     ――How do you feel about the Fresh Pon de Uji Green Tea and the Fresh Pon de Uji Green Tea with Brown Sugar Syrup?“They’re so crazy delicious. Each of them are so moist and smell so yummy, and the topping…I mean, that’s everyone’s favorite, right?” ――Speaking of toppings, what are some of your favorites?“I love garlic and green onion on just about everything. Cheese is also my go-to. Condiments are everything.” ――How about the Warabimochi and the Whipped Cream Mochi? “I can’t get enough of them. I’d definitely buy them myself. They aren’t too bitter, and I could really enjoy the rich aroma of the hojicha. It’s honestly amazing that Mister Donut can come out with these creative new items so often. This isn’t like memorizing lines in a play or following a formula. It must take so much work.” ――Do you prefer matcha or hojicha?“That’s really tough. (laugh) I like both. I love the flavor of matcha but I think hojicha has flavors that aren’t as common. I find myself eating a lot of chocolate, drinking lattes, or grabbing hojicha more often.”   ――How did it feel to shoot the Mister Donut commercial in a kimono?“It was so lightweight, it felt great. The stylist told me that it was entirely made of silk. I typically only wear kimono during rehearsals or things like that, but I’d love to wear something like this during a festival. Someday.” ――The new commercial will begin airing during graduation season. Is there anything you’d like to ‘graduate’ this year since it's the last year in your 20s? “That’s true, I am almost 30. I hadn’t thought about it! In my job, everyone is so polite to me, and I have the habit of leaving things up to other people. I need to be more personally responsible. For example, if I have to be somewhere for a meeting in the morning, I always get up at the last minute. Why don’t I get up 10 minutes earlier, you know? I need to be better.”   ――What would you like to tell those who are coming of age this year? Do you have anything to say to students and working adults who will start new grades and jobs in the spring? “As you grow older, you have less and less to do outside of work. I’m really impressed by people who do something consistently during their free time. I thought I should have done something like that back when I was a teenager, so I tried saving ¥500 coins last year. It was hard to do, even though it was something so small. After a year, I had saved up about ¥40,000 and I felt satisfied, so I stopped. But doing something each day outside of work is important.”

    Mister Donut has unveiled three new donuts as part of the ‘misdo meets Wittamer Heart Donut Collection!’ These will be available nationwide for a limited time only and were developed alongside the royal Belgian patisserie brand Wittamer.

     These heart-shaped treats are a new take on Wittamer’s popular Coeur Lait donuts including crunchy pralines. The Rouge Heart donut is made with dough that will remind guests of a Belgian waffle.   • Mister Donut Collaborates with Belgian Royal Chocolate Brand Wittamer

    Mister Donut locations nationwide are now selling products from the ‘misdo meets Wittamer’ collection, developed in collaboration with the Belgian royal patisserie brand Wittamer. These tasty treats will be available at participating shops until late February.    Since 2017, under the brand slogan “Good Things Come to Mister Donut,” the brand has collaborated with a number of companies from around the world to invigorate its already delicious selection of sweets. To start 2022, the beloved donut chain is teaming up with Wittamer to bring their ‘Chocolat Samba’ and ‘Praline Chocolat’ to customers throughout Japan.   The newly-developed chocolate donut batter is made by applying the same method to make cakes to donuts, creating a light mouthfeel very much like taking a bite of chocolate cake. By combining it with ganache cream and whip, the flavor becomes even richer. It might be difficult to take a bite of something so beautiful, but if you’re near a Mister Donut, you should give these a try before they’re gone!

      Chocolat Samba: ¥200 (Without Tax) The donut's chocolate dough is covered with ganache cream and filled with ganache whip. Pay close attention to the glossy texture inspired by the Chocolat Samba cake.   Chocolat Hazlenut: ¥200 (Without Tax) Covered in graham cracker hazelnut cream and filled with ganache whip, the cocoa powder on top takes the flavor to new heights.   Chocolat Caramel: ¥200 (Without Tax) Caramel mocha cream and ganache blend together with caramel chocolate and nuts for a decadent and luxurious treat.   Chocolat Blueberry: ¥200 (Without Tax) Chocolate dough and blueberry jam blend seamlessly with ganache cream. Topped with raspberry-flavored chocolate flakes, this is a showstopper.
