23.April.2020 | FASHION

The June 2020 issue of GQ JAPAN hit shelves on April 18, 2020, and online sales have completely gone through the roof. And that’s thanks to Ryo Nishikido’s front cover feature and cover story. Nishikido is a Japanese singer and actor who set up his own studio in September last year and began his career as a solo music artist.

COVER STORY | Ryo Nishikido

“I jumped off the enormous ship into the tiny yacht. It was at that moment I readied myself to bear all of the responsibility.”

Ryo Nishikido made his way to the studio, took out his beloved acoustic guitar from its case, and began singing a wistful ballad. He showed the face of a man who has matured—one that nobody had seen up to that point before his solo career.

In the June issue of GQ JAPAN, Nishikido reveals what’s going through his mind since only just starting his solo artist endeavours, his album NOMAD, his Japan tour, and his move away from the idol scene. There is also a special 10-page photo shoot.

Actor Masanobu Ando Photographs Actresses

The 30th Mynavi TOKYO GIRLS COLLECTION 2020 SPRING/SUMMER was held back in February without an audience. Japanese actor Masanobu Ando showed off his photography skills and photographed 8 actresses and models for GQ JAPAN‘s June issue including Ayami Nakajo, Sakura Endo (Nogizaka46), Mizuki Yamashita (Nogizaka46), Yukipoyo, Mizuki Kayashima, Aya Asahina, Elaiza Ikeda, and Maika Yamamoto.

The June issue continues to sell out in stores due to the huge amount of orders. It is set to hit the shelves of bookstores in Japan on April 25.
