The first promotional video for the upcoming TV anime series Show by Rock!! Stars!! was shown at the “SHOW BY ROCK!! 3969 Festival 2020” in Japan on September 27, 2020.
The trailer shows that the series is set in Midi City and features returning characters from the bands Mashumairesh!!, Plasmagica, and more, as well as Rikao from the band Yokazenohorizon which has never appeared in a TV anime series before. Check out the trailer below.
It also confirms that the series will premiere in January 2021 on TOKYO MX, BS Fuji, Hokkaido Cultural Broadcasting, and other channels.
The official YouTube channel for the anime series also posted the ending theme song Hoshizora Light Story by Mashumairesh!! which you can listen to here. Each band will be post a new video every week on the channel so be sure to subscribe.
In line with the release of the promotional video, the popular mobile rhythm game SHOW BY ROCK!! Fes A Live will be playable for free for a limited-time.

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, band and music themed project ‘SHOW BY ROCK!!,’ which started in 2012, has announced that for the third part of the ‘Road to 2020!! Aim for 10 Years!! SHOW BY ROCK!! 5 Huge Projects!!’ campaign, a best-of album titled ‘SHOW BY ROCK!! BEST Selection!!’ featuring 69 songs from the anime will be released in 2022. The number was chosen because it sounds like the word “Rock” in Japanese.
In order to liven up the 10th anniversary, the fans have been asked to vote on which songs should appear on the upcoming album. The voting method and available song details have been released on the official SHOW BY ROCK!! YouTube channel on September 8.
The details will be announced in the ‘”SHOW BY ROCK!! Fes A Live” Official Live Broadcast 1.5th Anniversary Special Broadcast!’ so keep an eye out! Applicable songs include not just the theme and insert songs, but also the blue-ray bonus tracks and special bonus songs too!

The “A New Song♪ Make a Music Video with a Rocker!” project, which is one out of five major new projects, has lead to the production of Mashumairesh!!’ new song ‘TRIGGER LOCK,’ which will be released on CD on September 15 2021.
The First Edition copy includes the live-action music video for ‘TRIGGER LOCK,’ which was created with help from the fans through crowdfunding. Be sure to check it out! The coupling track “Introduction” was written by Mashumairesh!!’s Tono Hikaru (Howan), Natsuyoshi Yuko (Mashima Himeko), Watada Misaki (Delmin), and Yamane Aya (Ruhuyu), who challenged songwriting for the very first time.
For the second project, the fourth instalment of the ‘SHOW BY ROCK!!’ live musical, titled “SHOW BY ROCK!! -DO-KONJIFINGER” was performed at the Tennozu Galaxy Theatre between August 19 and 29. The show was hugely successful and closed with a curtain call. A Blu-ray edition has been announced, planned to include footage of the energetic cast along with the Chiakiraku Digest, the curtain call, backstage recordings, and a selection of footage from the YouTube show ‘Shobamyu Doko Kitahousoubu.’

Show by Rock!! is a mobile rhythm game developed and published by Geechs in collaboration with Sanrio in 2012. The key visual, director, and cast have been announced for a new anime series entitled Show by Rock!! Stars!!.
What is Show by Rock!!?
Show by Rock!! is a band-themed character project conceived by Sanrio and the company’s first aimed at game and anime fans. The franchise received three TV anime series throughout 2015ーShow By Rock!!, Show By Rock!! Short!!, and Show By Rock!!#ーand this year saw the airing of Show by Rock!! Mashumairesh!! in January.
Now, the new anime series Show By Rock!! Stars!! has been announced. A completely new game title, Show By Rock!! Fes A Live, was also released this month and broke 1 million downloads on March 16. The franchise is being promoted and enjoyed by fans in a variety of ways, from live events to musicals, cafes, merchandise, and more.

Show By Rock!! Stars!! was announced at the end of the final episode of Show by Rock!! Mashumairesh!! which aired today. The key visual revealed to promote the new series showcases the various band members that appear throughout the series, including Howan of Mashumairesh!! and Cyan of Plasmagica. The visual also shows Rikao, the lead vocalist and bassist of Yokazenohorizon. This is his first time appearing in the anime series.
The cast is made up of 11 band members from Mashumairesh!!, Plasmagica, DOKONJOFINGER, ShinganCrimsonZ, REIJINGSIGNAL, Trichronika, Tsurezure Naru Ayatsuri Mugenan, Criticrista, BUDVIRGINLOGIC, ARCAREAFACT, and Yokazenohorizon.It will be directed by Takahiro Ikezoe at Japanese animation studio Kinema Citrus, who directed the previous three series. Touko Machida, who has worked on the series composition for all the anime series, will take the role of screenwriter, while Daisuke Tazawa, who worked on the series composition for Mashumairesh!! will write the script. Tomokatsu Nagasaku and Shinosuke Ito will return as character designers, and Rie Ishige as the main animator.
