Subaru Shibutani Announces Spring 2021 Japan Tour Dates

12.November.2020 | MUSIC

After approximately one year of waiting, fans of Japanese singer Subaru Shibutani were delighted to see his second album NEED drop on November 11, 2020. Shibutani has now unveiled the tour dates for his second Japan tour which will take place in Spring 2021.

At the start of 2020, Shibutani embarked on his first live performance tour entitled Subaru Shibutani LIVE TOUR 2020 “Nisai” which included live performances at 16 venues across 12 different locations in Japan. However, Shibutani’s plans to perform live in Shanghai, Taipei and Hong Kong came to a halt due to the coronavirus outbreak. This was set to mark Shibutani’s first ever overseas live performance. The pandemic also set back the tour grand finale which was supposed to be held at an outdoor venue in Shibutani’s home prefecture of Osaka.

The 2021 tour is a sequel to the 2020 tour and will see a total of 16 live performances across 8 locations in Japan. Tickets and more information will be posted on Shibutani’s official website.

Shibutani is determined to make 2021 a great year for music so stay tuned.

Subaru Shibutani is a Japanese singer and actor who began his solo career last year. Since going solo, he has travelled the world while writing music. In April 2019, he announced the launch of his music label “World art.” His first album Nisai hit shelves in October the same year, and in January this year he embarked on his first live tour across Japan and Asia.

Now, a feature length documentary covering all of this is set to be released on July 1, 2020.

The documentary film is entitled Nisai to 364 Nichi (“Two Years and 364 Days) and will be released in Japan on DVD and Blu-ray. Subaru Shibutani’s staff have over 500 hours of footage to use for the documentary, which will cover the recording of the Nisai album, behind-the-scenes of his live tour—which was unfortunately cut short due to the COVID-19 outbreak, forcing dates in Asia and the finale in Osaka to be cancelled—and more.
