“Kanji” (Chinese characters) is not the only way to write in Japan. LINKIN PARK designed a logo using Japanese “katakana.”

“Kanji” is famous as a Japanese writing form but do you know “hiragana” and “katakana?”

“Hiragana” or the basic Japanese phonetic alphabet, are letters made by abbreviating/altering “kanji” and “katakana” are letters which altered parts of kanji characters. Since “katakana” was designed by academics and Buddhist monks, it has a stylish atmosphere,

LINKIN PARK designed a logo using “katakana” and released a music video.

LINKIN PARK released their latest album, “One More Light” on the 19th of May (Fri) worldwide.

Their latest album, “One More Light” sold 5.5 million copies and charted number 1 in the iTunes album ranking. The album also charted number 1 in 25 counties including England, Germany and Australia.

They have become a big band but they continue to surprise their fans by holding a “surprise lives”

in such places as New York’s Terminal Station and on the platform of Grand Central Terminal.

A video of Chester and Mike designing a “katakana” logo is now available on Whammy Music Japan’s YouTube channel.

The logo was originally intended to be designed by fans (general audition) but Chester and Mike who were to be judges decided to design logos themselves.

Both of them designed their original “One More Light” “katanaka” logo even though they were not so familiar with using “katakana.”

It is surprising that their logos are of such high quality!

The scene of them designing “katakana” logos for “One More Light” can be seen at YouTube [https://youtu.be/pWWMZ9YtzjQ]. Let’s check it out!
