Perfume have released a 60 second snippet from the music video to their new single “Everyday.”
The new song is a collaboration between Perfume and Panasonic themed around foam and bubbles.
The music video itself is a promotion for Panasonic’s washing machine range which have a foam cleaning function that ensures a deep clean to get rid of those stubborn stains. Not only do Panasonic promote freshness, but they also want people to enjoy washing their clothes every day, whether they’re the ones cleaning or someone is cleaning for them.
Filming Episode:
The moment A-chan, Kashiyuka and Nocchi arrived at the set to film the music video, which was decorated with all things bubbly and foamy, they exclaimed “Whoa! Bubbles!” and “This is a really cool set!” Clearly excited, they dashed towards the set all at once. Their outfits for the video are two-toned – the black parts have a sharpness to them while the white areas represent the bubbles, giving the design a soft and airy feel. This combination of cool and cute is something the three of them have come to be known for.
Perfume’s choreographer Mikiko said of the bubble themed music video that she wanted the dancing to evoke the feeling of floating and so based the entire choreography around that idea. The choreography in the new music video is exactly the kind of objet d’art we’ve come to expect from Perfume. They have completely captured that image of floating through the air, so much so they it’s like they are bubbles themselves. This is emphasised even more thanks to the combination of the moving foam and lighting together with Mikiko’s cute choreography and Perfume’s seamless movements.
Interview with Perfume
——How did you find filming this new video?
【Nocchi】:The set was re~ally cute
【Kashiyuka】:The bubbles shined and sparkled and moved back and forth.
【A~chan】:They were suspended in the air the whole time, that was really cool too, wasn’t it?
——Give us your impressions on your new song “Everyday.”
【A~chan】:From the start we wanted to make a dance video. It was tough but I think it turned out great.
【Nocchi】:Me too.
【A~chan】:Even so, it’s a really feel-good and fun song.
【Kashiyuka】:It’s rhythmical and light.
——Tell us about the dance for「Everyday」 – AWA DANCE edit -.
【A~chan】:It’s a little bit, how do I say it, contemporary. It has both a mysterious yet slightly nostalgic feeling to it. And the chorus is jaunty.
【Kashiyuka】:We made sure to express that rhythmic feel of the bubbles during the chorus.
【Nocchi】:We personally really love dancing, so I feel that actually dancing and moving our bodies is even more fun than watching.
Make sure to check out Perfume’s cool & cute new music video above!
