Escape rooms invite family and friends to solve exciting puzzles and riddles within a time limit, and have become massively popular around the world. Since the first one opened in 2007, over 8 million people in Japan have participated in one of these exciting events held everywhere from apartment buildings to amusement parks.

The Escape from Godzilla event will be held throughout the Atami Bay Resort Korakuen, and will ask players to solve mysteries throughout the hotel. Visitors will need to explore rooms and sometimes interact with hotel staff to reach the end. SCRAP, known for its numerous crossover escape games, created the project.

Atami is the setting of the decisive battle in the 1962 film King Kong vs. Godzilla. 2022 is the 60th anniversary of the film, and guests are invited to enjoy an original story and original images showing Godzilla’s attack on present-day Atami in cooperation with Toho.

TMS is teaming up with SCRAP, a company designing unique escape games, to open “Escape from the London Trap Tower” in collaboration with the anime series Lupin the Third Part 6. The real escape game will open in Tokyo, Sapporo, Sendai, Fukuoka, Nagoya, Yokohama, Okayama, and Osaka in 2022. 

Up to four players can take part in the game at once, and the average run time is around two hours.

This escape game follows the story of Lily Watson, the teenage ward of Part 6’s master detective Sherlock Holmes. After being kidnapped, she is held in a tower guarded by traps and puzzles that need to be solved. Unfortunately, the kidnapper has told Inspector Zenigata that Lupin is on the way to steal a valuable treasure, so it won’t be easy!

Players will work with Lupin by speaking to him at designated communication points, and multiple strategies can be used to evade the guards. It’s all about teamwork!

SCRAP, a company known for its unique escape games, have recently started selling its ‘Nazokan’ (Mystery Can) product at stores nationwide starting December 22, 2021. These items sold out instantly upon initial release, and have been highly praised by puzzle-lovers, including popular actress and model Nanase Nishino!

Two kinds of ‘Nazokan’ are on sale: The ‘Golden Angel Can’ and the ‘Silver Devil Can.’ Each large can contains a number of difficult puzzles and riddles.

Following its initial launch in October 2021, the first production run sold out in only six days. Puzzle fans have been begging for a second production run, and to celebrate the re-release, actress and model Nanase Nishino has released her comments on the product. Escape games have been becoming more and more popular around the world over the last ten years. This particular Detective Conan collaboration has been held since 2013 and has attracted more than 1.3 million people to their local room to test their skills. ‘Escape from the Blood Task Force,’ the newest game in the series, tells the story of Shuichi Akai, the main character in the recent Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet film. 

Participants in the event will take on the role of FBI agents to help solve the case. Working with a team, players will head to their assigned areas to work alongside Conan and his team, or alone if they so wish. So far, this new event has seen over 20,000 visitors, with many complimenting the high levels of immersion. People have also commented that the escape room is like being a part of an entirely new movie!

The escape game, which is called “Escape From the Black Market Empire,” features an original voiced story (recorded by the original voice actors) that has players using their smartphones to communicate with the six Matsuno siblings. They must work with them to help repay their debt.

The event also has its own exclusive merchandise. In Fukuoka, it will be held at SPACE on the Station on the 6th floor of SOLARIA STAGE which is located not even a minutes’ walk from Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station.

SCRAP’s escape games are made in collaboration with many different series and see players become a character in the story where they must solve puzzles and riddles to find a way out. The exhibition is split into seven ‘chapters’ which recreate various scenes from the manga and anime series. The areas are littered with props such as the truck that Conny goes into, the test room desks, ​William Minerva’s pen, and so on. They even have the rooms smelling like they would in the series.

Fuji TV’s anime programming block Noitamina celebrated its 15th anniversary with a special anniversary orchestra concert held at Tokyo International Forum Hall C on May 29.

The breathtaking concert featured a line-up of anime songs that play during iconic scenes from different anime series. It was conducted by Satoshi Yoneda and performed by the incredible Tokyo 21C Philharmonic who lent their dynamic sound to the set list. The set invited each song’s respective composer on piano including Yugo Kanno for the main theme of Library War, Takahiro Obata for the first main theme of The Promised Neverland, Masaru Yokoyama for Yuujin A-Kun o Watashi No Bansousha Ni Ninmeishimasu from Your Lie in April, and more. Sarah Àlainn also made an appearance to sing the insert song Isabella no Uta from The Promisd Neverland.

The performance included scenes and visuals from each anime series edited specially for this cocnert.

Hotel Keihan launched a new guest room plan in collaboration with the anime series The Promised Neverland at its Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Nagoya, Sendai, and Sapporo branches on Tuesday. It also released a collection of exclusive merchandise which can be bought at each hotel’s front desk.

The hotel plan was originally scheduled to take place for three months but has been extended by a further month to accommodate for travel restrictions as well as guest demand. New prices have also been introduced to make it more accessible to people. Fans of the anime series can get their hands on a range of items not available anywhere else too including pins, key rings, folders, and more.

The hotel room designs are inspired by both seasons of The Promised Neverland and come with life-size panels, wall decorations, and more, so fans can look forward to getting sucked into the world of the anime series.

Sanrio Entertainment is teaming up with Harekage, a company that incorporates puzzles and riddles into promotional material, to launch a special online puzzle game that will be held via Zoom. The name of the game is “Acquisition of Puroland ~Rescue Captured Hello Kitty~” and it will be held six times on June 18, 19, 25, 26, and July 2 and 3.

In the game, which features a completely original story, players will communicate with the Sanrio characters on Zoom to solve the puzzle. They can write messages of support as well as tell the characters where and what to move. The event is being held online in response to COVID-19 and the shortened hours at Sanrio Puroland, so Sanrio fans unable to travel there can still meet with their favourites online. The stream will take place live from Puroland after closing hours.

How to Play

Players must purchase an online ticket and access the Zoom URL on the day. When the stream starts, an opening movie will play detailing the story. The game has a time limit as well as a final video after completing it. The puzzle and riddle can be accessed from the webpage provided. Players will use the chat function on Zoom to communicate with the Sanrio cast including Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, and Pompompurin, and guide them on what they should do to help save Hello Kitty.

The Game

This game is different from a quiz where knowledge is the key. Instead, you must use your full power of imagination to use the rules and words provided to line-up keywords in the right order and more. It’s a fun game that both kids and adults alike can get involved with. Kids tend to have more imagination than adults so they might be the ones solve the puzzle first!
