Ego Rock (long ver.) by Vocaloid Producer Surii Now Streaming, Music Video Released

13.September.2021 | MUSIC

Japanese Vocaloid producer Surii began his music career in 2018, and consistently uploads new tracks to both YouTube and NicoNico. An all-around composer, he often experiments with different music styles, and has achieved millions of views.

Ego Rock has proven to be one of the most important songs in Surii’s Vocaloid career, posted three years ago and sung by the Vocaloid Kagamine Len. Now, Ego Rock (long ver.) has been released, along with a brand-new music video!

Ego Rock (long ver.) – Surii

Message from Surii

This song was originally posted three years ago, on September 7, 2018, and was only one minute long. While the long version has been around for a while, it never had a video. For the track’s 3rd anniversary, Ocowa, an incredible video creator, created this music video.

The dance part in the video was choreographed by Yuiru, who does cosplay and various dancing videos on YouTube. She had originally danced to the one minute version of Ego Rock years ago, and after seeing that, I asked her to choreograph this video for me.

When watching this new video and seeing this dance for the first time, the song might feel new to people. I hope people can listen, watch, and dance to it, while forgetting all of their problems.

As we grow up, we amass more and more worries. It becomes harder and harder to move and act as freely as we did when we were kids. There are so many more constraints, and that can hold us back from what we really want to do. It can be frustrating.

I hope that listening to this song at max volume will help that frustration melt away.

  • Vocaloid Producer Hifumi Releases Music Video for New Song ‘Yoiyami’

    31.January.2022 | MUSIC

Vocaloid producer Hifumi has been posting incredible tracks on YouTube and Niconico for years. With over 16 million YouTube views, the artist released a new song Yoiyami on January 23. A music video has also been uploaded!

Yoiyami is a ballad about the importance of continuing to find a way to live through despair. In the past, Hifumi has stated a desire to create songs that “express dirty and difficult feelings with beautiful words.” The illustrations seen in the music video and on the jacket cover were provided by Mariyasu.

    Message from Hifumi

“This song’s theme is the difficulty of living. Although I thought my life had been lived cautiously, when I look back, I can see so many stumbling blocks. I want to live a proper life, one with my feet firmly on the ground, but my steps are so clumsy.

Driven by vague anxiety about the future, it can sometimes feel that it will be too difficult to make it through tough times.

I’m sure it’s not uncommon for people to feel depressed and disgusted with themselves.

Even so, I think it’s incredibly important to live for the moment, even if that means getting drunk on small daily pleasures or exaggerated dreams.

Mariyasu’s brilliant illustrations of a sad woman surrounded by flowers has a warm and gentle feel, so I hope everyone enjoys it! In these times of uncertainty and anxiety, I hope that my message will lighten the hearts of those who listen to this song.”

    Message from Mariyasu

“I was so happy to help illustrate this wonderful song.

I couldn’t help but bob my head as I drew, listening repeatedly to this dark yet warm track.”

This song was based on the motif of a ‘Werewolf Game.’

It’s been a while since I’ve produced a multi-part Vocaloid track, and I’ve scatted a number of hints for solving the song’s riddle in the lyrics, the video, and the CD. Ponder the answer while enjoying the song!

  • Music Video for Vocaloid Producer Hifumi’s New Song Released, Track Available to Stream

    08.December.2021 | MUSIC

Vocaloid producer Hifumi has been posting music on YouTube and Niconico for years. Now active as a popular singer-songwriter, the creator released the new track Tadaima, Anata on December 3 across streaming services. A music video has also been uploaded to YouTube.

The new track has a winter feel and tells the story of the separation between a man and a woman. The title translates to ‘I’m home, honey,’ and at first glance, it seems cut and dry–but the lyrics are much deeper than even fans may expect.

    Comment from Hifumi

“The theme of this song is ‘parting.’ The lyrics I wrote were pulled from my own regret–that I could have done more for the people I love.

I would have been happier if I could have been the kind of person who influenced people in positive ways with my words and my actions.

When making the song, I used a traditional Chinese instrument called a Yangqin.

If you listen closely, you can hear it at the end of the second chorus.

It goes well with Japanese instruments and has a charming and unique sound. I hope to continue incorporating different instruments into my work and take on more interesting challenges in the future.

The illustrations in the music video were created by the illustrator Sako. The delicate expression of light and the expressive portrayal of the characters really captured the atmosphere of my song.

This track is filled with my own personality, and I hope that as many people as possible can enjoy it.”
