Celebrate the Christmas season in the sky! From November 1 until December 26, 2021, the Roppongi Hills Observation Deck will transform into a red and green holiday wonderland for the Christmas in the Sky 2021 event.
This year’s theme for the Sky Deck, located on the roof of Mori Tower, is ‘Sky Chill.’ Guests are invited to just chill out while 270 meters above sea level enjoying a 360 view of the Tokyo cityscape. On Christmas Day, the annual Christmas Star Garzing Event will be held, featuring commentary from various astronomy experts.
Tokyo City View, located inside on the 52nd floor, is currently holding the 60th anniversary Sanrio Exhibition: The Beginning of Kawaii. The main art piece for the exhibition, the Unforgettable Tower, will be lit up with Christmas decorations, so be sure to snap a picture!
The restaurant in Tokyo City View, THE SUN & THE MOON, will be serving a limited-time Christmas menu as well.
A photo spot on the Sky Deck will feature a Sanrio Christmas design starting November 20!

The Mine City Tourism Association has announced a Christmas & Valentine’s Day event at Akiyoshido Cave, one of the largest limestone caves in Japan. The event will see the natural wonder illuminated by a number of colorful lights. The Christmas event will run from December 21 to 25, 2022, while the Valentine’s Day event will run from February 10 to 14, 2023. Akiyoshido Cave is one of Yamaguchi Prefecture’s most popular tourist attractions. The interior will be decorated with colorful lights and unique soundscapes, creating a once-in-a-lifetime setting for visitors. These illuminations and sounds were directed by world-renowned lighting designer Motoko Ishii, known for her work on Tokyo Tower and the Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge.

Eve has announced a special YouTube LIVE scheduled to take place on December 24 at 19:00. The Metaverse event that was a smash hit in 2021 will be returning in 2023! Sanrio Virtual Festival 2023 in Sanrio Puroland, one of the world’s largest music festivals blending both the real and virtual worlds, will be held starting January 13, 2023. A lineup of high-profile performers has been announced, including Airi Suzuki, SKY-HI, Yabai T-Shirts Yasan, and Aoi Fuji. Popular Sanrio characters such as Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, and Kuromi will also appear, and visitors will be able to experience the virtual Puroland by utilizing unique avatars and taking part in a number of exciting events. Popular singer Eve will sing the theme song for the film Black Night Parade, coming to theaters nationwide on December 23, 2022. A new trailer featuring the track has also been released alongside the announcement. Eve’s YouTube channel has over 4.2 million subscribers with video views of over 1.9 billion. The new song, Shirayuki, was written by the singer himself, who has become incredibly popular with overseas music fans as well. The track manages to be both gentle and powerful in equal measure, combining an orchestra with Eve’s unique vocals. In conjunction with the release of the trailer, an exclusive pre-release version of the song has been posted to TikTok.
