Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo Offering Traditional Japanese Afternoon Tea Service

28.December.2021 | FOOD

Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo is now accepting reservations for the Kubota Afternoon Tea service, a collaboration with the sake brewer Kubota. The service will be held at Kinsui, a traditional Japanese restaurant on-site from December 21, 2021, until January 11, 2022.

In addition, a take-out menu will also be available for couples wanting to experience the plan at home starting January 11, 2022.

The first afternoon tea service was held in October 2021 and was fully booked within a week after reservations began. Comments began flowing in, with many wanting to experience the menu again. Those who don’t typically enjoy sake were surprised at how well it paired with the sweets on the special menu, and to keep up with consumer demand, the event is back for a limited time–and with new additions to the menu as well!

Sake x Sweets Menu

The upper tier includes six varieties of sweets, including tiramisu paired with a traditional Kubota Junmai Daiginjo sake, which has a subtle sweetness and acidity perfect for pairing. The lower tier includes savory items like pufferfish and Fukusayaki, both can be enjoyed with sake between sweets.

On a separate plate, guests can enjoy a number of previously popular items, with some made to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the hotel’s opening in 2022.

For the welcome drink, each guest will be served a warm cup of Kubota Koji Amazake boiled with yogurt and ginger as an accent.

The upcoming take-out menu also includes a two-tiered selection of dishes and a bottle of Kubota Senju Junmai Ginjo sake.

Both the traditional and take-out plans also include a special sake that can be added to your bath!
