“Crayon Shinchan” marked its 25th anniversary this year and is loved by people all around the world. Since the official shop was opened in “Tokyo Character Street,” many people including fans, users of Tokyo Station and tourists from abroad are visiting the shop.

It has been announced that official LINE characters, known as the “LINE FRIENDS,” will team up with the internationally loved Hello Kitty to release a line of new collaborative merchandise. To celebrate, ‘Greeting Events’ will be held at stores and events around Japan.

With just a small bit of ingenuity, turn everyday food into something cute using Kaori’s recipe series! With a few simple ideas, an ordinary recipe magically transforms into a cute dish.
Let us introduce to you, “Minions Cup Omelet Rice”.
■1: Ingredients
・2 cups of rice （to make the chicken rice）
・Some carrots
・Some green peppers
・Some corn
・Ketchup 3 tablespoons
・A little black pepper
・Two eggs（one whole egg, one egg yolk only）
・Sliced cheese –one slice
・Sliced cheddar cheese-one slice
・Some laver
・Fried pasta（please look at Purin-chan instructions）
・Circle cookie cutter
・Punch for laver
・corn starch（to make thinly fried omlet）
・Circular containers to put the omelet rice in（for this recipe, paper cups purchased at a ￥100 shop were used）
2: First, make the chicken rice. Cut carrots and green peppers into small pieces and fry them with some corn. When the carrots become soft, add the rice and fry some more. Next, add some ketchup and black pepper.
☆Add other ingredients to your liking
☆Add enough ketchup to make the chicken rice to give it a strong flavor
3: Put the chicken rice into the cups.
4: Fly the eggs to make a thin omelet. In order to make the omelet the bright yellow, use one whole egg and one egg yolk. Next, add cornstarch blended with water and filter it through a strainer.
☆The reason cornstarch blended with water is added is to avoid the omelet from tearing.
Next, pour the egg mixture into a fry pan and make the omelet. Be careful that the omelet is not burn.
Fry over a low heat and when the surface consolidates, turn the heat off and wait until it cools. When it can be touched, pull away the egg omelet with your hands. Place the fried surface so that it faces top.
5: Next, turn the circular cup over and cut out some circular pieces of omelet. Be careful that it does not tear.
6: Place these circular pieces of omelet on top the cup-filled chicken rice.
7: Now, let’s make the character parts. Cut the laver as is shown in the photo. Cut out some circular pieces of cheese and cut a sheet of laver so that it is a larger circle than the cheese. Next, cut a sheet of laver into some circular shapes which are smaller than the cheese.
Place a dab of mayonnaise to make the center of the eyes. For one of the eyes, place the mayonnaise at the bottom of the eye lid.
8: Use the laver punch and to make the mouth parts.
Use the pieces of deep fried pasta to make the hair as shown in the photo. Finally, place a dab of ketchup on the cheeks to make them red.

Humorously titled The Adventure in Ass Wonderland, the interactive exhibition will pay homage to the past three decades of the beloved anime series. Tokyo Station Hotel to Offer Accommodation Plan in Conjunction with the 150th Anniversary of Railway in Japan Exhibition
Starting on October 8, Tokyo Station Gallery will begin the 150th Anniversary of Railway in Japan Exhibition. To celebrate the opening of the event, Tokyo Station Hotel will begin offering a special lodging plan which includes a special ticket for entry starting September 15.
2022 marks the 15th anniversary of Japan’s first railroad. The exhibition will look back at the history of railroads from their inception in 1872 to the present day, and will also feature modern and contemporary Japanese art.
Over 150 works will be on display, from oil paintings to photographs. The exhibition will also include Kawanabe Kyosai’s Jigoku Gokuraku Meguri-zu and Utagawa Hiroshige’s masterwork Steam Train Running Along the Shore at Yokohama. The train headmark was designed by Katsuhiko Hibino in 2021.
The accommodation plan will include a special tour held on the morning of check-out day before the gallery opens to the public. Visitors can enjoy the exhibition in depth while listening to explanations by the curators who planned the exhibition. After the tour, visitors can enjoy the exhibition again. The special ticket features Utagawa Hiroshige’s painting Steam Train Running Along the Shore at Yokohama and is perfect as a souvenir.

The digital service Anique will launch an online exhibition and begin selling limited-edition merchandise on April 15 to commemorate 30 years of Crayon Shin-chan films!
The exhibition will highlight the many characters found in the long-running series, and will also feature an exhibit focusing on the upcoming film Crayon Shin-chan: Mononoke Ninja Chinpūden, coming to theaters on April 22, 2022.
Fans are invited to think back on the last three decades of these classic anime films.

To commemorate the 35th anniversary of Chibi Maruko-chan, the Momoko Sakura Pop-up Shop will open from March 18 to March 31, 2022, at Ichiban Plaza on Tokyo Character Street in the First Avenue Tokyo Station mall.
The Chibi Maruko-chan manga series began in 1986, and was serialized in the popular shojo manga magazine Ribon until 2018. Written by Momoko Sakura, it tells the everyday life of the third-grade troublemaker Maruko and her family. The series is set in the Irie district in Shimizu, now a part of Shizuoka City, where Momoko Sakura was born.
About 40 never-before-seen items will be available at the shop with new illustrations by Momoko Sakura. From stationary to accessories, fans of the series shouldn’t miss it!

Vintage Furniture Exhibition ‘Life in Art: Tokyo Modernism 2022’ to Open at Three Venues Including MUJI HOTEL GINZA
Ryohin Keikaku, which operates the interior design brand IDÉE, will open the ‘Life in Art: Tokyo Modernism 2022’ exhibition from February 25 until April 10, 2022. Vintage stores and galleries from all over Japan that deal mainly with furniture from the 1940s to 1960s will come together to introduce audiences to exquisite designs from around the world. Shinichiro Nakahara and Takahiro Goko have organized the exhibition in an effort to spread the word about modern design in the golden age. The exhibition will be held in three parts, beginning with a showing at ATELIER MUJI GINZA and continuing to an auction at IDÉE Tokyo. The final exhibition will be held at MUJI HOTEL GINZA.
Modernism Gallery
This exhibition is composed of items from a number of unique galleries and stores. Intended to promote the beauty of mid-century vintage furniture and interior design, each piece will be introduced alongside stories from the original designers.

Store owners, creators, and artists participating in TOKYO MODERNISM 2022 will be auctioning off a selection of unique chairs during this unique event.
Modernism Show
About 30 galleries and vintage shops from around Japan will transform the guest rooms on the 7th and 8th floors of MUJI HOTEL GINZA into stores for this special show. This is the main event and will gather together masterpieces of modern design from the United States, Brazil, Scandinavia, and Japan.
