Cake.jp, a website specializing in cakes and sweets, is installing special vending machines in AEON MALL locations! These machines are part of a collaboration with ONE PIECE FILM RED.

The collaboration vending machines will offer canned cakes inspired by Luffy, Uta, and Shanks from the popular film. Each cake tin features original designs by Cake.jp and each character’s cake has a unique flavor.

Luffy: A refreshing cake with orange cream, jelly, blueberry cream, and more.

Uta: A colorful cake with a variety of flavors including melon, lemon, orange, and blueberry cream.

Shanks: A chocolate-based cake with berry cream and a perfect balance of richness and acidity.

Collaboration Vending Machine

While the Cake.jp official website sells these cakes exclusively in a set of three, the collaborative vending machine allows customers to purchase them separately. Fans of all ages will love these tasty treats, so after seeing the film why not pick up some of these sweets for yourself or a friend?

A new Anniversary Cake celebrating 30 years of Kirby is now available for purchase! Orders are open now on the Premium Bandai website.

Those who purchase the cake will be able to decorate it with the included chocolate pens and chocolate plates. The three layers of strawberry mousse, vanilla-flavored mousse, and sponge provide a super fluffy texture and sweet and sour flavor. The cake also comes with original plates featuring Kirby’s face with his mouth wide open! Orders will begin shipping in December, and you’ll want to grab your cake soon–orders will stop when the product is sold out.

Those passing through Gotanda Station in Tokyo might want to keep an eye out for some tasty treats on sale for a limited time. Patisserie Giraud has opened a limited-time pop-up location inside the aptly-named shop Have You Eaten This Before? The pop-up will be open until May 31, 2022.

Have You Eaten This Before? features a rotating selection of products perfect as gifts, souvenirs, or as a treat for yourself. Along with six cakes made to look just like fruits, a selection of other baked goods will also be available.

Crayon Shin-chan is a slapstick comedy series detailing the hilarious daily life of five-year-old Shinnosuke Nohara and his family. 

The original manga series began serialization in 1990 and an anime series began airing in April 1992. 2022 marks the 30th consecutive year of the anime series. 

The original manga series has sold over 134 million copies worldwide, and the anime has been dubbed in 30 languages and aired in 45 countries. Shinnosuke has now become a popular character around the world and one that represents Japan.

Online cake shop Cake.jp has begun selling a collection of six onigiri-shaped cakes inspired by the character Inumaki Toge from the popular anime series Jujutsu Kaisen! The items were originally released to great fanfare in December, and are now available again for a limited time.

Inumaki Toge is able to use curses simply by speaking, and in order to avoid hurting anyone close to him, the only words he uses are the names of onigiri fillings.

Chances are you’ve seen the Hokkaido Menkoi Nabe Kuma-chan Onsen. Menkoi means ‘cute’ in Hokkaido dialect, and these cute little bears are made from soup stock. Set them in a pot, and they begin to melt, looking like they’re enjoying a hot spring bath. Once they melt, you can enjoy their delicious flavor! Currently, the only place in Japan to offer this adorable and creative dish is a little shop in Miyamasu-Zaka, Shibuya, which opened in 2021. The shop is full every day, and getting a reservation can take up to a month!

Bandai Candy has begun selling the second round of Demon Slayer-themed tarts! This time, the family-sized treats will feature the taste of two varieties of cheesecake, and will be available at select AEON, AEON Style, MaxValu, and Daiei locations throughout Japan.

Each tart features characters from the popular Demon Slayer anime series with smiles on their faces. Ginza Cozy Corner, a popular cake store in Tokyo, has started accepting preorders for its beautiful selection of New Years’ mini-cake sets, called Sweets Osechi. In Japan, osechi refers to traditional foods eaten on New Years Day, which come in a special box, not unlike a bento box. Of course, they aren’t usually packed with sweets, but these look absolutely scrumptious.
