Team Syachihoko become sushi toppings in newly released images for forthcoming greatest hits album “Syachi BEST 2012-2017”
Formed in Nagoya, idol group Team Syachihoko are to release their first ever greatest hits album “Syachi BEST 2012-2017” on October 18th, a record that will serve as a compilation of their 5-year idol success. The group have unveiled three different CD covers showcasing each of the five members for each edition of the album that will be released.
The news that Team Syachihoko would be releasing their first greatest hits album was announced at the end of June earlier this year. The girls took to their fans to vote for their favourite songs from the group to make it the ultimate collection and a truly “best hits album for the fans.” 20 songs were chosen to feature on Syachiko BEST 2012-2017.
The album will be released in 3 types: a regular edition, a 5-year anniversary edition, and the “ROAD to Nagoya Dome-mae Yada” edition. Each edition of the album is a re-tasting of Team Syachiko’s 5-year music career for you to lap up and enjoy.
The regular edition features cover art of each member laid on top of sushi rice just like a sushi ingredient.
The 5-year anniversary edition sees the girls sat as the main dish alongside a set of golden chopsticks.
The ROAD to Nagoya Dome-mae Yada edition includes 2 new tracks. As the title suggests, this edition is being released in the run up to their next venue goal: Nagoya Dome. The CD cover has each member reaching for not a beach flag like the sport, but a golden beach carp.
The booklet that comes with the album contains new photos of the group, as well as throwback photos taken over the course of 5 years. Make sure to check out the details below of the special bonus event that will be held at their Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka concerts in November for people who have purchased the greatest hits album.
And there’s another bonus for for people attending this special event who have purchased one copy of each edition of the album. They will be given the making-of DVD for their concert at Gaishi Hall back in March completely free! And since the 5-year anniversary edition includes the entire live footage of the Gaishi Hall concert, you can enjoy both as a set.
Team Syachihoko are set to perform at Tokyo Dome City Hall on September 3rd and at Aichi Prefectural Art Theater on September 24th for “Syachi Sama 2017.” In the meantime, get your hands on a copy of Team Syachiko’s greatest hits and enjoy the best of their humour-filled tunes!

Team Syachihoko’s hugely popular TV variety show “Kuro Syachi,” which airs on Mētele (Nagoya Broadcasting Network), will broadcast the idol group’s first ever stage performance which will held at Higashibetsuin Hall in Nagoya from Friday August 25th to Sunday August 27th.
The variety show has continued for 4 years since 2014 and changes its title from “Yuru Syachi” to Kuro Syachi” in April this year. The name change symbolizes a new concept they are going with for the show. The show will see the members turn from “Team Syachihoko” into “Kuro Syachi.” The “syachi” in the group’s name, another way of writing the pronunciation of “syachi,” means “orca” or “killer whale.” You can guess then that they are no longer to be messed with – they will level up from light-hearted to intense.
The aim of this change is in support of their first ever stage performance. But it won’t merely be just a ‘theatrical’ kind of performance – it’ll include singing, dancing, sword fights and more for an exciting and jam packed new installment.
The performance was created entirely in Nagoya together with other creators in Nagoya whom the members have connections with.
The performance will be held 5 times from August 25th to August 27th. The final date, August 27th, is already sold out, and the other dates have just a small number of tickets left.
In the final week of the summer holiday, why not head on over to Higashibetsuin Hall to witness the one and only Team Syachihoko?
