The character cast at Sanrio are teaming up with Splatoon 2 for a second time at 20 branches of KIDDY LAND in Japan―including Harajuku and Osaka Umeda―from November 10 to 22.

Splatoon 2 is a video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch™ that has sold almost 7 million copies worldwide as of June 2018. In this second collaboration, the internationally and instantly recognisable characters of the Splatoon world are joining hands with four characters from Sanrio to release a line of tournament-style merchandise.

The first collaboration between the two franchises came as a result of Splatoon 2 ranking first place in the collaboration category of the 2018 Sanrio Character Awards and proved to be hugely popular amongst fans from both sides. The partnership hit 11 KIDDY LAND branches which saw a range of exclusive merchandise from t-shirts and stickers to iPhone cases and beyond.

The character line-up includes Pochacco, Badtz-Maru, Tuxedo Sam and Keroppi, all of whom are first-timers in this collaboration. As well as regular goods like t-shirts and plush toys, there will also be limited edition Inklings art with a watercolour touch available from November 12. This will be available early at Sanrio Puroland from November 10.

What’s more is that for every KIDDY LAND exclusive item that is bought and every ¥1,500 including tax that is spent, fans will be given one of eight possible coasters. These will be discontinued once all have been given out so you’d best be quick if you want one.

Splatoon 2 is teaming up with Hello Kitty & Friends company Sanrio from August 10 to 24 at eleven KIDDY LAND stores including the eastern Japan flagship store in Harajuku and western Japan flagship store in Osaka.

Splatoon 2 is a third-person shooter developed by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch™ which has sold over 6 million copies worldwide (as of March 2018). A tournament-style Splatfest recently concluded last month which saw Sanrio collaborate with the game as part of the 2018 Sanrio Character Awards. Four Sanrio characters battled it out with My Melody reigning victorious. Additionally, Splatoon 2 entered the collaboration category of the Sanrio Character Awards and ranked in first place.

The merchandise is exclusive to KIDDY LAND and is a mashup of both franchises with Sanrio characters thrown into the world of Splatoon and vice-versa.

Those who spend over ¥1,000 (including tax) on any of this merchandise will receive one of eight stickers chosen randomly. These stickers are limited in stock so you’ll want to be quick!

Bandai Candy Business Division will sell a snack-toy, “Splatoon 2 Kisekae Figure Collection” (450 yen / tax not included) which contains the “gear” of the player characters from the game software, “Splatoon 2” from the 18^th of December 2017 (Mon.) in the snack sections of convenience stores and supermarkets throughout Japan. Moreover, reservations of the product can be made from the 20^th of September (Wed.) 13:00 at Premium Bandai and websites ahead of the official release date.

 “Splatoon 2” is a game software for Nintedo Switch (™) which was released on the 21^st of July 2017. It is a very popular action shooting-game where the characters inside the game shoot ink at each other.

The product is a snack-toy collection figure which contains figures of “Boy & Girl” which appear in the game and “gears” that can alters the ability of each character. The purchasers of the product can enjoy various kinds of coordinations, the same as in the game, by dressing up the “Boy & Girl” with several “gears” such as “head / clothes/ Shoes.”

There are four kinds of “Figure (Boy or Girl) Gear Sets” and four kinds of “Gear and Display Base Sets” available. The hairstyle of “Boy & Girl” is same as the hairstyle which can be chosen in “Splatoon 2” and the product comes with figures who have different skin colors / hair colors, “Clothes” and “Shoes.” The sets of gear and display includes “Head,” “Clothes” and “Shoes” and the seat for the figure.

Every “Gear” can be attached to either Boy and Girl. The gears have been made precisely which means, for example, the winkles in the clothes and the texture of the shoes are built in a full-fledged manner.
