JR Higashi Nihon’s campaign, “Let’s go eat crabs in the Hokuriku area.” Tokyo Station is filled crabs!

20.October.2017 | SPOT

Many visitors to the Hokuriku area enjoy fresh seafoods and the crab caught in the Sea of Japan. Crab is known as the king of Hokuriku’s seafood.

JR Higashi Nihon in cooperation with local autonomies and touring companies in the Tohoku area started this campaign from the 6th of November when this season’s crab fishing became legal.

JR Higashi Nihon is promoting this “eat fresh crab” campaign with brilliant PR.

They posted ads with illustrations of crabs performing synchronized swimming in the Japan Sea on the wall and floors of the basement free path in Tokyo Marunouchi Station (11m long) and the stairs.

Some of the illustrations look different according to the angle you look at it and this gathering much attention.

Another brilliant ad can be seen in the video posted on YouTube. You can see crabs performing synchronized swimming rapidly. The speedy movements of the crabs remind us of the Hokuriku Shinkansen.

In coordination with this campaign, many ads of crabs can be seen in the storefronts of “Byu Plaza,” a touring counter located in the center of Tokyo Station – Yaesu.

Why not go to Tokyo Station to see the ads of the crabs?

It might be a good idea to visit the Hokuriku Area to eat crabs after enjoying the ads in Tokyo Station.
