Starbucks Coffee Japan will sell two kinds of new drinks “Matcha Fruity Blends Tea Latte” and “Matcha & Fruity Mascarpone Frappuccino R” for a limited time offer from the 26th of December 2017 at all Starbucks stores throughout Japan (excluding at some stores).
“Atarashii Matcha no Sekai” is a series of new drinks which combines fruit, nuts, vegetables and chocolate together with matcha based on the “natural” flavor of matcha. This series will offer a new “matcha experience,” one filled with refreshing discoveries.
Also, Starbucks will launch initial sales of these items at 10 chosen stores throughout Japan as a Christmas present starting from the 24th of December (Sun.) Let’s enjoy the excellent harmony of matcha with other ingredients such as fruit.
Matcha Fruity Blends Tea Latte
Some unusual ingredients are combined with matcha such as, “Japanese citrus fruits,” “white grape,” “Japanese mustard spinach”and “almond paste.” They are all hot beverages with matcha chocolate as a topping. You will be able enjoy the new world of matcha. These drinks elicit the hidden charm of matcha by using unusual ingredients to match with matcha such as nuts, fruit and vegetables. These drinks are fresh but thick at the same time.
Matcha & Fruity Mascarpone Frappuccino R
A fruity/creamy Frappuccino R where you can experience the new world of matcha. The drink includes two kinds of raisins and mascot-flavored mascarpone. The raisins and matcha are blended together offering a condensed natural sweetness along with the flavor of matcha. The whipped cream used as a topping also has the flavor of matcha which means that this drink is highly recommended for matcha-lovers.
Moreover, mascot-flavored mascarpone adds a fruitiness to the drink which makes the drink different from previous matcha-flavored frappuccinos®. The quantity of the drinks noted above is limited.

McDonald’s Japan locations with ‘McCafe by Barista’ areas will begin selling special spring treats for a limited time starting April 6, 2022. Customers will be able to grab the ‘Strawberry Uji Matcha Frappe’ and the ‘Uji Matcha Mont Blanc Tart.’ McCafe by Barista invites guests to enjoy high-quality frappes and smoothies. In Japan, McDonalds McCafe by Barista will be releasing the new Kuromitsu Uji Matcha Frappe beginning September 1. The sweet autumn drink will only be available for a limited time. McCafe by Barista has been popular with customers looking for sweet beverages, such as Frappes and smoothies. The Uji Matcha Frappe was added to the regular product lineup in June 2021, and features a mellow matcha flavor.
