The Oishii Nippon Restaurant Fair will be held in Ikebukuro’s Sunshine City from February 2nd to March 11th where you can get your teeth into a selection of original menus using local ingredients from different areas around Japan.
39 restaurants will participate in the fair including those in Sunshine City Alpa, the Sky Restaurant zone, and Sunshine Aquarium. You will be spoilt for choice with the wide selection of menus containing meals that use local ingredients from across Japan, including “yamagata-gyu” (beef) from the Tohoko area, “Kamakura yasai” (vegetables) from the Kanto area, “uzu-kacho” from the South-west region of Honshu and Shikoku area, “Japanese Black” from Okinawa, and more.

Crayon Shin-chan’s 30th Anniversary Exhibition will be held at Ikebukuro Sunshine City starting December 17, 2022. Humorously titled The Adventure in Ass Wonderland, the interactive exhibition will pay homage to the past three decades of the beloved anime series. In conjunction with the event, a key visual drawn especially for this exhibition has also been unveiled. This special exhibition looking back on the 30th anniversary of the anime series and films will feature many hands-on Crayon Shin-chan projects based on the theme of Shinnosuke’s butt. Shiragiku Sake Brewery will release a special sake made exclusively to mix with soda water on October 1, 2022. The beverage will be available in Okayama Prefecture. The company’s interest in creating a new sake culture led them to develop &Soda, a delicious sake made to be mixed with soda. This may be helpful for those who don’t know much about sake, or who may feel intimidated by the many different types. Being able to mix it with soda will make sake drinking feel more casual.

Japan’s largest sake event, TOKYO SAKE FESTIVAL 2022, will run from October 4 until October 6 at the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building’s Triangle Square. The event’s aim is to make sake more mainstream around the world, with the first festival taking place in 2020. Tokyo Sake Festival blends sake with entertainment, showing off the very best of Japanese culture to those who may be new to craft sake. For the third year, former NMB48 member Yui Takano will serve as ambassador. Takano is known for leaving her idol career to manage the sake specialty store Yui Sake Shop. Tokyo Sake Festival 2022 is bringing together forty carefully selected sake breweries from around Japan, including Inoue Seikichi, winner of the Champion Sake award at IWC 2022. Tonoike Sake Brewery, winner of Kura Master 2022’s President’s Award, will also be in attendance. The full lineup can be found on the official website. To commemorate the release of Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun, an exhibition will open at PARCO FACTORY in Ikebukuro on September 2 and at PARCO GALLERY in Nagoya on October 1!
Guests can see original drawings from the first and second seasons of the anime and the movie, special video content that mixes full-length anime footage with original drawings, and artifacts from the story. Photo spots will also allow visitors to experience famous scenes from the series. Those wanting to be guided through the exhibition can purchase the One Point Nanachi voice guide! The voice actress Shiori Izawa will lead you through key parts of the venue. Original goods will also be on sale at the venue. A special collaboration menu will be available at Cafe Address on the 6th floor of Ikebukuro PARCO, including savory dishes, desserts, and drinks inspired by the show's characters.
